Default FFL ammo transfer (from Internet)

Which FFLs in SoCal (LA/OC/IE) accept internet ammo purchases? What are their fees for this service? I saw a thread listing two such FFLs in OC, but that was it. Any other FFLs, esp. in IE?

29 Outdoor Gear in American Canyon accepts all deliveries without charging anything. However, they have to collect sales tax unless already paid.

$15 for ammo under $1000 order value or 10,000 rounds. Tax collected if not already by online vendor. Call for approval of orders over $1,000 or 10k rounds.

Check out On Target's web site for fees. The last I looked it was pretty pricy.

Wowsers, ammo dealers are collecting sales tax on out of state ammo purchases? I assume that is in addition to the "transfer fee".

Was this in the conditions of obtaining an ammo dealers license?

Read your CA income tax return. You are required to pay tax on purchases from out of state.

As a CA business, anything which goes through the business is subject to the law, which includes sales tax.

The CA FFL does not get anything for collecting the sales tax, in fact, it often costs money, in addition to time and effort.

I posted a letter from the CDTFA (formerly the BOE) regarding sales tax and ammo in the Master FAQ sales tax thread.

The summary is that an occasional sale from a private party, within the state or not, may not be subject to sales tax.

Yea double on the "Wowsers!" How about between private party type sales. Anyone know if sales tax still appplies?

That is not always the case. It has to be an occasional sale and the dealer can't get involved in finding the buyer/seller or get involved in the price.
