Friend and I only got 4 up near Williams.

My other friend did well - around 20 specs.

We ended up with 10 birds. They would skirt the Decoys just out of range. Not what we expected. Oh well...it was better than sitting on the couch.

Went out this morning with my friend that did well. No shots this morning. He’s out there now and still no shots.

Friend is doing a late season spec hunt up in the northeast zone in March. We’ll see how it goes.

Time to snowboard and look for spots to hunt turkeys and coyotes.

We had that happen this morning. Thinking it was the decoys shining but not sure.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

We have been shooting pretty well, surprisingly Speck heavy considering how many Snow Geese and Ross's are in the area.

Friend went up to northeastern CA to hunt specs. 9 guys only got 7 specs. He said there was snow on the ground and it was very muddy. He was unhappy with the hunting and left, even though he paid for 2 days.

He brought me three specs so I’ll have some bbq spec breasts tomorrow.

What guide/outfitter did he use? What made him unhappy?

He went with a friend. It was his first time going up there. Another friend of mine knows the guide. I’m not going to say his name because I don’t think the bad hunting conditions and lack of birds is a reflection of the guide.

He was unhappy with the snow, mud, cold temps and lack of shooting opportunities.
