Installed kit B in permanent 10s that turned in to 9ers, but that was easily fixed with the drill.

What did you have to drill to keep them as 10s?

If you drill them when they are empty, the follower get caught on the little bolt you install and may limit the mag to 9. (should only be an issue for the stubbies, afaik(

If you instead drill them loaded with 10 bullets - dummies preferred , then with the drill in place - take out 1 - 2 dummies, the follower will hang on the drill. Pushing and releasing the 9th bullet, you can make the drill cut a path - or use the drill in/out.
- I thought of moving tool to another location but could not find a better one.

Also, using a smaller drill bit would probably help avoid the hole getting too big - we don't want that

Hey Nimoz,
The set screws for the PMAG kits can be 1/2" long instead of 5/8" long. Do you think that would solve the problem?

Yes, I think it could be perfect.
That would make the button and the set screw to be just shorter than the guiding tab on the inside.
- The front sidewall + guide of my PMAG is just less than 3/16", add your button's 11/32" and you get 17/32", which gives slightly more material than 1/2"

Edit: Don't know about the new stubbies based on a later model pmag, but I would expect the wall and guide to be very similar.

Thanks for your input. I'll change The KIT B to 1/2" set screws on our next run.

I just bought several kits from him, I recieved it a couple days later and installed them on right away. Installation was quite easy and works great. This is definately a simple and functional design that is a "must have" for avid AR-15 enthusiasts. Thanks Thordo!

great design, great idea, and Thordo is hella responsive, takes feedback and works to improve the product. I have them, as I stated before, on all my pMags and now, it feels second nature and I laugh at the day I used that korny Gpik or held an actual tool to do a release. This IS the only way.

Stockton gun show update. The first day of the show was VERY slow (not many people showed up) but we were able to pay for the table. WOO HOO!! Tomorrow we hope to make enough to cover the gas. More importantly is that the word is still spreading. We're hoping tomorrow is better.

I talked to a couple of other gun sellers and in the process saw the Rad-lok bullet button. After some research it seems that the standard BB is still rated best among AR users. However, the Rad-Lok is popular with AK users. It is another minor tweak to the current design. I prototyped a couple when we got back from the show and will test them tomorrow. If they work, they'll become KIT C!!

Stockton show update. WOW!! that show was dead. There were MUCH less than 1000 attendees for the whole weekend. The promoter decided to close the show one hour early today(3:00). Vendors were packing up by 2:30. We made enough for the table and gas but once again got positive comments and possibly another retailer interested in a distribution deal.

Our next show should be Sacramento at Cal Expo on March 6-7. I still need to register and will confirm the date in a later post.
