Default John Lott suggests NICS for voter validation

http://dailysignal.com/2017/09/12/ec...t-voter-fraud/

Quote:
Lott said he saw no reason NICS could not be used for background checks to ensure voter eligibility at no cost to the voter, and would be a “trivial cost” to states. He noted that Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., had praised the NICS system.

“This would be one-stop shopping,” Lott said. “This has been hashed out in political debates. If this is a system people honestly believe over time … doesn’t suppress a person’s right legally own a gun, presumably these same people believe it will not suppress voter turnout.”

Let us simply oppose them all - write, call, attend meetings with legislators and tell them they're wrong.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.

On one hand, that's a pretty good argument. On the other hand, if this gets any traction, you-know-who would try their best to corrupt NICS

Democrats will fight this. The Dem. underclass needs room to operate. That system is for the rest of us.

The democrats already did a bang up job suppressing voter turnout in CA by officially making CA a one party state with one party on the November ballot.

If you are not a democrat you have no one else to vote for here, therefore many stay home.

Anti's Reaction in...

3....2....1...

How will the Left address the problem (they claim) about minorities and
voting, versus exercising their 2nd Am. Rights ?

Quite the logical Conundrum.

Good One, Prof. Lott....

NICS check??

I got a better idea. Make them show a driver license and pass a voter safety test. Do a background check. Fill out a federal form where they can be held accountable for perjury. Make them wait ten days before they can vote.

Can't buy s gun, can't vote.

Of course kalifornia would have a roster of approved candidates and they'd all be democrats.

Only that will require a major rewrite of the law and we all know that will never happen. If it ever happen we all know it will be ruined - not pessimistic just realist.

Here is one example of why even the current NICS won't work. I'm WA anyone can get a DL and as long as the applicant proffesses to have current address and claims citizenship and they are generally not otherwise prohibited the check will likely proceed.

Its unfair that Lott got stung years ago for tactics routinely ignored when used by gun control advocacy researchers and their proxies. His researched is virtually all way more solid than the their side, but here is only one of him (shame on us).

Its a great one zinger/one liner, genius snark, but it has no legs in the media

I hadn't heard of Professor Lott getting stung on any research he did. Do you have a link ?
