Default 1 pound takedown 22LR pack rifle

Reading the post about Chiappa releasing their version of the M6 scout, I was reminded of an Ultra-lightweight, takedown rifle I read about recently.

It is made of aluminum/carbon fiber. It weighs just under 1 pound and breaks down to 17".

Nothing much to look at. It's a single shot, so not "tacticool", but designed with specific goals in mind. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Here is an operational video:

They even have a fishing kit of sorts that converts the base rifle action. Not sure how well it works, but in a pinch I am sure it would be fine.

Anyway, just thought I would share for anyone looking for an ultralight packable rifle:

2 questions:

1. What's the trigger like?
2. How well does that scope mount return to zero?

I'll gladly add a couple of pounds for a multi-shot.

I've been eyeballing this for a couple years now. Everything I've read, including the new article says quality is unbelievable. All hand made, specialty firearm.
Most don't get the weight importance, it's a backpacking thing where grams are a very important consideration.
I spoke to the owner last year and was told they would make me a mount for the Burris Fast Fire. Very, very nice people.

This product is more up the alley of a backpacker more than a gun enthusiast. I'd love one. I don't know how much back-packing you guys do but 4.5 - 5lb 10/22 vs a 1lb pack-rifle is night and day difference in terms of weight. A simple .22lr semi-auto pistol will weight right near 2lbs. A 1lb rifle is a game-changer.

I'd take one. TBD if I'd spend money on one, though.

When I want to go as light and fast as possible, I bring my S&W 317, 12.5 oz. It's a hell of a lot easier to carry than a 10/22.

The emphasis with this rifle design is light weight. Adding a couple pounds or even several ounces isn't consistent with the use and design philosophy. Kudos to the designer for giving it a shot. I hope someone picks up where this one left off. A super ultralight rifle is possible and would be really neat.
