Correct. It has to be IN PERSON by an NRA certified instructor, and the instructor # must be listed on your cert.

Might be a silly question but can't find answer online. How do you get the application packet for the Arizona non resident CCW permit?

Do they need a copy of my CA CCW permit sent in with the application? I know they want a copy of the training certificate but wasn't sure about CCW permit.

The weird thing is that unless your training cert has a NRA instructor number on it they will reject it, however if you simply supply them with a copy of your CA CCW that will work.

Here is a link to a long running thread on the topic with lots of info.

Send a color copy of your CA CCW, and you don't need a training cert as the CCW is proof enough of training.

It doesn't have to be a color copy.

Black and white copy works just fine.

I Learned that Michigan doesn't honor nonresident permit's. They honor Arizona only if you're a resident of Arizona. Still, having a permit for some states is better than nothing.

I have an Arizona non-resident permit. I will be moving to AZ in a couple of months. After the move, is there a permit change I need to do other than giving DPS my new address?
Thanks,

Yes, your CA LTC satisfies AZ's training requirements.

Thanks,
My understanding is that AZ changes their database to record your new information.

I can. Have. And will continue to. My first Ca hunting license was 1965. Prior to that, 1958 til 1965. I didn't need a license because I wasn't yet 16.

Before any State Mandated safety class requirement.

When Ca implemented the required safety course. Having a prior license made you exempt from it.

In 1789 Davy Crockett was three years old. According to legend [or at least the song]. That's when he killed him a bear. I can't help but now wonder how many hours, he had to sit on a hard plastic [wooden] chair, in a Hunter Safety Class before he was 'ALLOWED" to get his hunting license?
