Is that a standard Flash Hider on that M1A?

Or is that M1A a RAW?

BTW... that really is a very nice FAL.

It is a national match flash suppressor, the rifle is a loaded SA model MA9826.

It is not a RAW, does not require registration in my neck of the woods

That's the JAE for the m1a/m14. California legal. Solid platform which bolts the stock to the receiver requiring a strong hold that doesn't need bedding. Very nice, and pricey - yes I am a customer.

Default "Sexy and 7eventeen"

Okay.... call me "Old School"

***The 20rder I picked up at FedOrdnance back in the late 80's****

"just to compare size" (stock on M1A is 12" LOP-not used on these 3 photos)

I wanted a SOCOM,I have a LOADED and a STANDARD,sooo...
I had the STANDARD cut down to 17",threaded and installed SEI SOCOM Compensator.SADLAK,TUBBS,SUREFIRE X200 were added,USGI wood stock and skateboard tape on butt plate plus DANISH sling.The WEB gear is mostly NAM time frame with a SUREFIRE G3 and a ONTARIO OKC 3S bayo.

"Oh yea!" She is "Sexy!"

In a few weeks I'll be able to pick up my Norinco M14sa to compliment my LRB. Damn rule of two bit me in the behind. Actually have a complete parts kit minus receiver if I were so inclined to have a third. I may sell the parts kit to recover what I spent on the Norinco...

Norinco Specs:
* GI bolt conversion
* Criterion 18.5" chrome barrel
* Winny trigger group
* USGI Clip guide, bolt stop, rear sights
* USGI Syn stock
* USGI SA Oprod

New buttplate from wrap:

Extra primo trigger group. I got a new in wrap HRA housing:

Extra primo, non-reweld, non-reparked Winchester Oprod from Jon Wolfe:

The 4MOA Aimpoint dot does not work well for precision groups at 100 yards and my Lasik unfortunately has worn off so my eyes suck. That said, at 50 yards I was getting pretty consistant 1.5" groups w/ iron sights. I suspect if I get a good low to med mag scope to compensate for my lousy eyesight this baby is capable of 1.5-2.5 MOA accuracy.

A few pics of my '07 Norinco M14s

It's wearing a custom painted (by me ) USGI fiberglass stock, it's also had a trigger job done and I added a stainless steel oprod spring guide.

So here's my latest project. Norinco M14 converted with USGI TRW bolt and a Criterion chrome lined medium weight 18" barrel. The finish on the receiver was extremely thin, not to mention a little bit of surface rust in the mag well, so I decided to go a different route. I'm using Krylon tan camouflage paint that I picked up from Ace hardware. I need to go back to see if they have a brown I can use to give it some color as a complete single color M14 looks funny. If I get tired of a desert tan M14, I'll strip all of the paint and have it reparked. Here is the look (color wise) I am going for, except with a 18" barrel:

I have a tan syn stock sitting in my closet. Waiting for a SAI muzzle brake.

Before:

After:

And of course, the Norinco's big brother...my LRB.

CrazyJeep,
I used Rustoleum camo, 1917 khaki, 1918 brown, and 1919 forest. I used mesh to apply the pattern.

That's going to be really cool. I wish I had the nerve to paint the metal on my M1A. Maybe when I have two more.

Some updated pics.

Finally got my SAI comp. Now I just need to paint the comp, the rear sights, the gas area and then give it some contrast. I have no idea how in the hell I'm going to paint it. I'm trying to go for the this but I'm having issues what color scheme I want, let along what color scheme is in this picture; i.e. what colors...tan & OD green, tan & brown, tan & brown & OD green.

Update:

get some duracoat and a airbrush. pick local vegitation for your contrast, lay it over your rifle and spray it. or get a peel and spray camo kit.

I don't think I want something as semi-permanent as duracoat.
