Delusional to think CA is safer.

Hopefully everyone ignores her.

It's a good thing we have this then...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.the...rticle/455652/

And also a good thing that on the state level, Democrats hold less than 20% of the legislature.
A leftist city mayor is not going to be able to make much difference on the state level....
It's currently against the law for her to try.

Yup it's something to watch right now, heck she could be ousted next election or this could then spread to Meridian, Kuna, Nampa, Caldwell until not just Ada county is (almost) solid blue.

Most Idahoans don't fear Californians, they fear liberals.
The only gripe I have ever heard that does not involve liberals is the rising price of houses and that is for all immigrants.
Good to know. Yes, the left has tainted the meaning of the term Californian.
Born and raised CA native here.

I believe the majority of Ca transplants to Idaho are right wingers. Moving there in droves with huge pensions compared to what Idahaons make are retired LASD, LAPD, OCSD, VCSD, LAFD county and city, OCFA.

Don't watch, become active and go after her. Watching is how the cancer in Cal was allowed to flourish. Go after her every chance you get and keep her on the defense. Next election cycle work hard to oust her.

When I moved to Nampa in 2017 my realtor said most of the home buyers are local, some are from out of state like Washington, Oregon and a few from California. $200k would buy just about anything on the market and homes were selling in 40-60 days. I talked to her last month and all of her clients now are from southern California relocating to the Nampa/Boise region and the median price on homes is over $300k and sell within hours of being listed. The locals have been priced out of the area and are hotter than ever. I've heard of people with CA plates being run off the road, followed home, property damaged, just for having CA plates. Even local businesses have the same mentality towards Californian's. The Nampa area has grown from 70K people to over 105k in just 2 years and the local DMV office is processing over 500 out of state licenses a month just for Canyon County alone. Idaho is growing so fast and the government has not planned for or planning on the amount of growth this area has seen lately. They just take the money and run and from what I have heard the city of Meridian is not turning down any building permits. As long as there is open space there will be subdivisions. Sadly this state is turning blue quickly and the primary reason for people moving here is just for cheaper housing compared to Socal. My wife and I are planning on selling and moving out of Idaho in 2020/21. It's not the same Idaho as it was just 2 or 3 years ago

You may not see it inside those walls... But the rest of the county feels pretty much the same way about all Californians. We (here on this forum) know there are good ones there... But it's a real thing.

I've been telling people about the license plate thing for three years... You are seeing first hand reports of what happens... The rest of the country has a pre-conceived idea of Californians... That's why the first thing I did was change plates (even though the car sits in garage 100% of the time - I didn't want neighbors to see CA when door is open)... And I always make it clear "I'm one of the good ones" when I embarrassingly explain I was born and raised in CA.

It's a different world outside the border.

Not a whole lot for me to personally do, I live in a different city and county than where Boise is located.

That's the truth right there and it scares me how much it's changed in the going on 4 years that I've been here.

We identify as "constitutional refugees".

Boise sounds like is another story. But considering there is still less than 20% of the state legislature that is Democrat, and NONE in my county (or the surrounding counties for that matter, they have NO control over anything but their little area...

This state will still be solidly red long after I'm gone. And my children know how to vote to keep it this was when it's their time...

I don't think I am, I KNOW I am. I don't need to qualify it, but we could go into more depth about that. I'm not one of those who wanted to get out of California and have some kind of lingering habits I didn't know I had. I've always been a far right conservative.

Joe, it's great that you moved here and that you are concerned about maintaining our freedoms, but please relax a bit about local offices. I've been in the valley for almost 50 years and the political orientation of the mayor of Boise has never meant anything. It's actually an apolitical position with no party affiliation listed or mentioned. The linked picture was actually a demonstration for background checks, which I gotta say, most of the state would likely agree with. Lauren makes no mention of any affiliation with Moms Demand Action, but there is talk of a new Idaho branch of MDA focusing on the effective modification of atv's , called Moms Demand Traction....

California was lost when imported left coast liberals changed the political scene, that's what the new mayor is. It's something to watch when an out of state pro abortion pro gun control liberal takes office in a conservative state.

In regards to expanded background checks.. you mean national gun registration, because that's exactly what it is but they are pretending that you already don't have a background check when purchasing a firearm. If you go talk to Idahoans and ask them if they want a Federal database on gun ownership I'm sure you won't get much support, especially when the first step is registration and the second is confiscation. Always.

Here's an article by Idaho's own Greg Pruett on the issue

Agreed WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!!

This is EXACTLY how dems gained and maintained control of places like Simi Valley, Riverside, and lots of O.C. areas. It is the same thing with places like SF, Ukiah, Santa Rosa and places that were old farm towns such as Chico and most of Northern California. You indoctrinate the youth, teach them they aren't allowed to speak ill of women, persons of color, sexual orientation and so so much more. Tell them the end is nigh, show them pretty colored graphs of how the polar ice cap is melting, and the pengins and snow cats will be homeless. Make them vote far L, and slowly change the culture. That is what both Joe_Sun and myself, and so many others are screaming here.

We are trying to raise the warning flag EARLY and not allow it to pass on to our youth, coworkers, church family and more. IF, and its a big if, we catch this now, maybe we can save the valley and keep it from turning purple or blue.

I know recently my coworker said she voted women all the way down because she was sick of men running things. She is a California transplant. She talked all about how she isn't political, is sick of seeing what is going on, yet knows NOTHING about the issues. THESE are the kinds of things we need to correct and change.

The ONLY liberal transplants I've met in eastern Idaho have been from Portland. EVERY swinging Richard from California that is in my area is a STAUNCH conservative, Trump supporting, church going, gun toting, Democrat hating good guy. Also, your location says Boise. Of course you are going to run in to progtards over that way...
