Personally, I see the 10 second miss penalty as motivation to not miss. ie practice...

I had a great time! Thank for putting in the work to get this together.
Either 5 or 10 seconds wouldn't have saved me a bit but I got to make a lot of noise, scare a few clays, make the polish plate rack laugh at my shot, wrong choke and 18.5 inch barrel. Absolutely the most fun you can have with a shotgun. Thanks again.

Would be nice to have a monthly longgun match and alternate between rifle & shotgun. Not enough longgun match in the bay area.

A pure long gun match would be nice.

A pure shotgun match would also be nice.

Or get kinda funky, and make a pistol & long gun match to give the multi-gunners something to squeel at...besides Klondike Bars.

It'd be nice, but again.. we have other predominate sports.. now something that used to happen many moons ago are something like side matches after the pistol matches.. If enough ppl got together and brought out their rifles (and you had some RO's agree to watch you) you could re-shoot paper with rifles and steel with shot.. put out a few static clays and you'd have something more to shoot at besides steel.. It would take some planning and personally after officiating a regular match, I'm pretty much toast to do anything else.. but it could happen if someone else were to organize it..

Guilty party here... Benelli finger on the second stage, blood on my glasses, shirt and gun

Last time I shot the spaghetti gun was June last year and first time with the C-Rums loading gate. I did notice it when I was cycling dummy rounds at home but thought it will different in live fire. Nope... jam-o-matic indeed. Got advice from Chris S. and it worked somehow. I just finished polishing it inside out and ran the dummy rounds again. Seem to have eliminated the problem, I hope.

Man, talk about practice reloading... fumbling shells all over the place. Here's a video of Stage 3.

That's how I like it, compete in the division with the fewest (this time no other) shooters in it and kick butt

Maybe next year I'll have some more competition in field division and use my dad's 2+1 auto or better yet, 2+1 pump, that'd be fun

In all seriousness, I was surprised to be middle of the pack, And 10th Rank on stages 1 and 3! Woohoo! .... Although I dunno how those all work since the guy above me on the list for stage 1 is also ranked 10th haha.

That's pretty good, I saw a few of those guys with the speed wands in open just spewing live shells all over the place, ie, not in the gun

That looks like a typo, it's showing 2 no. 2, 2 no. 10 and no 9 for Stage 1. You rank by points.

Man, Chris S. shot Stage 3 in 37.64 seconds! That's just wicked fast!

Got me.. Berkim handled scoring.. I don't have a clue how his database works.. and I know there might be typos in his excel file. But I don't have time to look into it right now..

After seeing Norbs007's video I really wish I had taken the time to get some video shot. I brought my camera but totally forgot about it sitting in the bottom of my bag on match day

Did you shoot the match Raymond? I didn't see you there, I wanted to bend your ear a little about shotgun reloading after having seen your youtube vids on it. You get any video of yourself?

No, Greg...I was not able to make the match that Sunday. (Other committments).

But I was there until 1730-hours on Saturday setting everything up for yall.

I will be shooting the Golden Bullet at the end of July, and I am frequently there on Saturdays.

If I make a match, rest assured there is a 95% probability that I am taping myself...and will share the videos with yall.

Yup, sure will be nice to see more action shooting videos here. Nice to have one of those HD camcorders, I'm just glad the iPhone can take decent enough videos. The video link under my signature were from the iPhone.

@Raymond, dude you seem very handy with tools. I've been wanting to install a rear sight on my Benelli. Willing to do some gunsmithing work? Thanks

Norbs007,

I'm no gunsmith, but I am pretty decent with my hands.

Drop me a line sometime, and we can go from there.

I am working tonight, Wednesday night - but then I will be on vacation until Tuesday the 6th of July. (A whole 6 days of doing nothing)!

Woke up this morning and finished reloading a few thousand rounds of .223 and .45...so I am currently a happy camper. Gonna tackle some 10mm and .357 later today...or possibly Thursday.

In Christ: Raymond

Sweet! I need to do some .223 for BARC myself. Just hate to change my reloader right now. Thanks man.
Those bottles and cans looks exactly what I have on my bench, I'm out of One Shot though Even that Emerson knife?

Oh, sorry for the thread drift... back on topic.

The One Shot has been sitting there for a few years now. I tried it when I was on my serach for a better lube.

I am pretty much an IMPERIAL SIZING DIE WAX guy now.

I swear by the stuff, and have never had a "bubble crunch" on a .223 shell, nor have I ever had a case stuck in the sizing die. (Pistol or rifle).

As for the knife, someone gave it to me. I believe it is a Smith & Wesson knife. Personally, there are only a few knives that I feel comfortable carrying for EDC. (Every Day Carry). COLD STEEL is one brand (only Tanto tips!), and the CRKT RINGED RAZEL is the other.

Both manufacturers blades are great, and both will hold a good edge. I like keeping my knives sharp, and those puppies can both "POP" a hair off your arm when freshly sharpened. Not "shave hair"...but POP hair.

I use and trash the heck out of my EDC knives. For the money, the quality is great for an every day trasher.

I have other fixed blades, but the above three are always with me. Catch me at the range sometime, and see which one I have on hand.

And now back to our regularly scheduled SHOTGUN MATCH THREAD.

In Christ: Raymond

Dillons lanolin based spray lube is the shiznit for sizing rifle brass in bulk. Works just as well as Imperial wax and is way, way faster to use. Never had a stuck or dented case with it unlike the Hornady one-shot (which was a total one-shot for me too, lol).

One shot is good for pistol brass.. I like to use it for 40 and 9 mm brass loading, for the 38 spl, I don't need it since the cases are Nickel plated..

I got tired of paying around 9 bucks for the one shot spray...setup a new tumbler, filled with rice hulls and added some spray on car wax from walley world, about 4 bucks for 26oz bottle. Let it spin for 20 minutes and brass is so slippery you have a hard time holding it in a handful. So far the batch of rice hulls in the tumbler has lasted for about 4k of brass and the hulls look like they'll go another 4k before it's time to toss them. I'm going to run all the already clean brass back through this as time permits. I've noticed the brass glides in and out of the dies much better now. The rice hulls are really cheap and if the BP oil spill makes it to my place, I'm covered for the clean up...

Video of stage 1
Shooting at a Polish plate rack leaning back on your weak side behind a barricade is no small feat.

Stage 1

Forgot that the black plates were hard covers... tsk tsk tsk.
