Congrats I love mine. Got it a few months ago. I was worried about the recoil at first. But when I actually fired it, the recoil wasn't bad at all.

I had a problem with the ammo in the yellow box in my scout ,would not cycle and sucked trying to get it out and tried it in a Rem 700 and they would stick there also just a little heads up in case you have alot of those rounds.

We use those at work (5.56) and they've been excellent so far, after about 20k rounds fired this year. Might have had a bad batch.

Haha i agree the wood is nice but for more money + more weight it just wasn't what I wanted. I'm not an AR guy so these are my tactical battle rifles and I wanted to save a little weight where I could. The standard 22" barrel is getting a long range scope/bipod while the scout is staying relatively stock. Maybe an Eotech down the road

Very nice ... Congratulations!

I recommend the light weight, heat dissipating scout hand guard (SHG) from M14.ca for your Scout.
Even the EOTech sits low on the SHG, but not so much on the factory mount, it usually requires a cheek riser.

Awesome. I, also, am a bit jealous. Nicely done.

Not sure if you actually want to add a low scout rail optics mount, but if you do the UltiMAK is also a nice one. I have the Mini-30 version and can vouch for its quality.

Happy new year and enjoy your new rifle(s)!

For those weight watchers out there, SHG is 3.5 oz. lighter than the M8.

Nice!

I am actually taking a quick lunch break from working on my M1A Loaded SS. Working on the trigger group, going for a nice crisp break!

Next project, I am going to order a USGI Extractor+bolt guts, Gas Shims, Sadlak TIN Piston etc. Should be fun!
