Been checking my local WalMart almost daily, nary a sight of anything on the shelf in common pistol sizes. A few boxes of odd rifle boolits and plenty of shotgun shells but that's about it.

That is probably my fault. Last time I was in SJ I bought 2k rounds of .45 acp from the Walmart I stopped at. They didn't even put it on the shelf. They were wheeling it in and I scooped it all. I don't even own a .45. Sorry.

cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it. I buy as much as i can when i go to wally world its my free right as a customer. Some times I list it here for sale too but, i only ask for the cost of the ammo w/tax just to pass it on to a fellow Calgunner.

I admit it does sound harsh. but i do hope his barrel burns. I guess I shouldn't post when I drink. But the greed of some people...Jeese. If I knew who it was for certain, I would be arrested for assault. I really think I'd knock him out. And I don't say that often. My friend is on a very limited budget and is internet lame. But he is a nice guy that deserves better than to have some greedy slob stop him from trying his new pistol by buying all the 45 as soon as it is stocked.

Hey.. maybe you could get a law passed that limits the amount of ammo people can buy.. or at least puts a 10 day wait on it..

I apoligize to the moderators of this site and emphasize that they hold NO responsibility as to what has been written in this particular post. I just wish that that everyone could enjoy the sport of shooting and that 1 certain person wouldn't blow it for everyone. At least this time.

Do they have to but ALL of it? Just because it is there? Who is going to shoot 3000 rnds in a 1911?

How do you know it's just ONE guy buying it all and not a bunch of different people buying it before they hit up Targetmasters?

The Salesmen in 3 Wallmarts in the area said that is the same guy for the past 2 weeks.

LOL! There are other shops that sell ammo besides Wal-Mart.
There is a device called a telephone and a yellow book that gives numbers to call that may have ammo in stock. Pick up phone, dial number, ask question, Do you have any 45 ammo? If answer is yes, get in car and drive to store, purchase needed ammo. THAT WAS EASY! Let your fingers do the walking. LOL!!!!!

Walmart, (Mtn. View / Showers Ave.) had some .45 at 9:45pm tonight. The 9mm went in under 5 minutes. So, if you really want .45 call tomorrow when they open, verify stock then be there by 7:05 am. You should get some.

Good luck.

Wow, last time I checked this is a free country. Maybe we should ask our politicians to come up with a plan to limit the amount of ammo that can be purchased in a one year period. How's 50 rounds a year sound to you? Would that satisfy you.

Tell your friend to go to a gun store if he is so desperate for ammo.

There was some 45 there last night in blazer brass . the reason I now this I bought six boxes last night after going to target masters. I left 6 boxes behind so the next guy would have some. good luck finding some it took me 8 visits to find some. some one else bought all the 9mm before I got there. I was hopping to get a couple of boxes of that As I am running low on my small supply I like to have around 250 rounds on hand.

I was there today around 3pm the .45 was gone. Then the guy checked stock to see when they where getting more. It showed that more was coming in tonight. He said come back around 9pm. I called around 9:45pm to check stock and the 9mm was gone (all of it) but he said he still had some .45 and .40. He said it was a mad house tonight for ammo. So... call when they open. Then, if they have some, hurry over there.

+1 For the guy who buys all the .40 s&w in the Antelope Valley. I'm a small time buyer, just leave me a couple hundred rounds every once in a while

#1 get over it
#2 don't worry so much. The ammo hoarders will run out of money before the suppliers run out of ammo
#3 don't forget they used to "allocate" consumer products in the Soviet Union. We all know how well that worked.....

Dude, start reloading - this is one of the reasons I do.
How do you know it's just one person?

Based on some of the threads I've seen - you've crossed a threshold here.

if one is shooting enough to obsessively clear the shelves everytime ammo came in at walmart, they may want to consider gettiing a reloading machine. the return on investment pans out pretty quick taking this route considering all the ammo they're buying..

I was there and I saw the guy buying ALL the 9mm. I was watching him and I asked him, "Are you going to buy it all or leave some for others?" He thought about it and then said, okay. I took some boxes. Then I asked him if he reloads, he said yes. So I then I told him again, "Then let's leave some for other people." I left around five boxes of 9mm on the shelf. Then he reaches in and takes the remaining five boxes!

I looked at his cart, he had around 20-25 boxes of 9mm, 10 boxes of .45, and I think, 4 CASES of shotgun rounds. C'mon, don't be a so damn greedy, Dude! You want his description?

I ended up with a couple boxes of 9mm and .45, I already have some at home. There was still 20 boxes of .45 Blazer Brass on the shelf when I left at 9pm. Plenty of .40 S&W.

Well, when I worked at a local range, I would stop in to shoot or visit a lot. While I was there, I usually shot 250-300 rounds through one of my Kimbers at least twice a week. So, 3000 rounds would have lasted me up to 6 weeks. Of course, that was just cassual practice. If I was seriously practicing for some type of compitition, I'd would have been shooting more than that. Now, the range is closed so, I don't shoot as much.

What is wrong with buying as much as one can if they have enough money? I would buy as much as I can for rainy days. The other day, I bought 25,000 rounds of SK Standard Plus 22LR ammo. I also bought in couple of occassions the whole pallet of 12 gauge ammo. It felt good!

stop crying that people are taking all the ammo at walmart. i even posted my 45 acp for walmart prices and people didn't want to buy it. WTF is that all about. you cry when you can't find any, yet someone sells ammo at walmart prices and nobody wants to buy!!

i still have a case of WWB of 9mm and 45 i was thinking of selling, but i might as well just keep it since everybody complains about not having ammo, but nobody wants to buy a whole case. whatever!!!
