Was standing next to a guy this weekend at FTA on my re-cert.

His last gun he qualed with was a 357 magnum that he says he takes with him hunting.

Pretty cool guy from what little I talked to him.

Apparently he was having some issues with it as he was getting help from one of the instructors who before they helped him said something to the effect of.... "Im not an expert in civil war era guns"

I have a couple students who have 44 mags on their LTCs. One of them is an 8" or 10" barrelled revolver. He likes the fact he can carry his bear protection while backpacking without worry.

I have a .44mag snub nose on mine. Requalified with it just the other day, no problem with .44mag ammo.
Perfect gun for hiking and hunting trips.
It does tend to turn some heads at the range as it's a bit loud and emits a huge fireball.

I put my full rail TRP operator on my license. Not for CCW, but I don't have to worry about locking it up when I take it to the range.

I have a Glock 7 on my permit, bring it everywhere: airport, court, daycare, pita meetings, lgbtpqrst events, pet store, San Francisco (all of it), and school cafeteria. It's made of porcelain and invisible to metal detectors...

I qualified every time with a U.S. Military, Korean War-era, Colt .45 (1911). I also qualify with a S&W M&P Shield 9mm and a Glock 26 9mm. (as displayed in my signature below)

.45 ACP. It's like a 9mm, except for grown-ups.

I qualified with a full-size 1911 .45 ACP and I got some looks. I mean, what ever you qualify with is just what you have a OWB holster and have best accuracy with, right? Lol

I've added on 2x Walthers .22LR and my XD-9 SC. I got looks for my Walthers too. This is the opposite spectrum. Hey, a .22LR in your left ventricle is just as deadly as my 1911, lol.

What ever floats your boat, right? Just make sure you qualify, lol.

I do range quals for retired leo’s under hr218 here in Idaho. Many of them qual with ar15 pistols in 556 or 300bo to put on their 50 state permit in addition to a more normal carry gun.
