BSIS Guard Card Classes, Exposed Firearms Permit, OC / Pepper Spray, Taser, Handcuffing, & Baton.

www.pdsclasses.com

Guard Card

Only $18.95 On-Line (NO READING REQUIRED! Multi-media course.*)

This is the required course a security guard must complete in order to receive a California Guard Registration Card (Guard Card). California law requires all security guards to be licensed through the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. The license is called a Guard Registration Card, or “Guard Card” for short.

Before applying for a “Guard Card”, the applicant must first complete a prescribed course to include four hours of training in the “Powers to Arrest” and four hours of course work on “Weapons of Mass Destruction.” You must be at least 18 years of age in order to apply for a guard card. The test at the end of the course is an open book, open notes test. We strongly suggest that students download and print the course manual prior to taking the test.

* On-line students must read the test questions and answers while taking tests. No other reading is required for the on-line course.

Course Information and Resources

Course Length: 8 hours
Online Course Cost: $18.95

Exposed Firearms Permit

This permit is issued by the state and is required in order for a security guard to carry a firearm while in uniform and on-duty. The course includes one day (8 hrs) in the classroom and one day on the shooting range. In order to complete the course, you must attend the full day of classroom training and then shoot the qualifying course of fire on the shooting range. The course fee covers the classroom time, the instructor’s time on the range and the use of one firearm in order to qualify. Students must pay for their range time (typically around $10.00) and pay for their ammunition. Students who bring their own firearms may use any ammunition they wish. Students who use firearms provided by Practical Defense Systems must purchase their ammunition at the shooting range.

NOTE: You must bring proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency in the United States.

The ONLY documents that are accepted by BSIS are:

Birth Certificate; U.S. Passport; DD-214; Valid Military ID; Green Card; or INS paperwork.

Course Information and Resources

Course Length: 14 hours (8 hrs classroom, 6 hrs range time)
Cost: $99.00

I took the online guard card class and finished it in one day. Now I just got to do the firearms permit course so that I can do the live-scan and send in my applications.

What these courses mentioned above will get you is a certificate of completion that you've completed / satisfied what is needed for BSIS / State.

Now getting the Job / Gun and in uniform all depends if you are able to get hired by a Security Company.

Hope this helps.

Have a Great Week

Thank you so much for offering your service. I used to work security for 4 years and allowed my card to expire because I went back to college. Now that I'm looking back at getting in I have to renew my card, some place was going to charge me $140, which is a ripoff compared to your price.
