SGL-23-61 at Addax Tactical

I have linked the info. posted on our website.

Basically, I understand that the SGL-23-61 is just like the SGL-21 listed on the Arsenal Inc. website: Arsenal SGL-21, but the key differences are a CA Compliant Magazine locking device, and 10 round magazine.

I do not have any pics yet, and I have requested pics and more info. from Arsenal Inc. and they will forward the pics etc. to me as soon as they have them ready.

My understanding is that they are coming up with a magazine locking device.

We showed the folks at Arsenal the Raddlock AK lock, and they researched several other types of locks, and decided to come up with their own design.

I have not seen the actual mag lock yet, but we suggested that the magazine locking device have a provision to be able to use a tool to disassemble the magazine from the receiver (like a Raddlock or Bulletbutton).

I have called Arsenal Inc. this afternoon to find out more about the new magazine locking device.

Just got off the phone with the guys at Arsenal Inc.

The new Magazine Lock they are working on will utilize a special key-tool to remove / disassemble the 10 round magazine from the receiver (like other magazine locking devices), or you can use a something like a screw driver, but they say their key-tool is much better than using a screw driver.

Chris,

Do you have an estimate on when you'll be accepting Pre-Release Orders for the SA and SAM Milled CA Compliant AK rifles on your website?

Thanks,
Ron

Arsenal has told me that they plan on first releasing the SGL CA compliant rifles, then the SA, SAM milled CA Compliant rifles.

As soon as I get word from Arsenal on the CA Compliant SA and SAM rifles, I will be announcing this on Calguns.

I hope the milled receiver CA compliant rifles will be available in the next couple of months.

Chris

Glad to read this good news regarding Arsenal's decision to send their products direct to our ADDAX. Months ago, the climate was so different and I've read post threads regarding Arsenal's instructions to their out of state dealers. Good way to convince them with both BB idea and off the list chart. More than happy to see if they place a " California compliant rifles available " sign on their website meantime we wait for "two weeks" event to come. This a good sign that a huge dealer like Arsenal have finally seen the light. Your efforts paid off....Chris.

What kind of warranty? How will warranty issues be handled? Through you or direct to Arsenal?

Anyone have any experience with Arsenals warranty? Thanks

The factory warranty is a limited 1 year warranty.

Just like many other firearms from other mfg's, you would deal directly with the manufacturer for warranty related concerns.

We will be happy to assist and advise our customers if they are experiencing an issue, but if a firearm is in need of warranty service, then the best course of action would be to deal directly with the original manufacturer of the firearm or product.

Here is a link to the Arsenal Inc. website explaining their warranty:
http://www.arsenalinc.com/warranty.htm

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Chris

Have you heard any feed back from customers that have dealt with Arsenal for warranty issues?

Yes I have.

Arsenal covering their rifles under warranty is not an issue, as long as your rifles warranty is valid.

If you abuse and misuse your rifle, alter the rifle (that could cause an issue), the warranty will not cover any repairs.

I have read some of the negative posts on line from some folks who were upset that Arsenal would not cover their out of warranty rifle due to whatever issue they had.

Many of these folks purchased an Arsenal rifle that was already out of warranty, and used.

Most product manufacturers will not cover a product that falls outside of the stated warranty time period, or if the product is abused, mis-used, and / or altered.

Hope this helps.

Chris

The Arsenal lock is riveted on, not screwed on.

If you are looking for something that can be easily removed from the rifle for shooting out of state, then this is not going to be the solution for you.

If you are moving out of state permanently, Arsenal will convert the rifle back to its normal configuration for a nominal fee.

I would have bought one of these rifles if it wasn't for their stupid locking system. They just had to be safety sally overachievers and go above and beyond what is required under Cali law. I don't see them selling alot of these.

So you want to take it off so it can be Illegal is what I hear...

Arsenal replaces the Mag-lock with the factory one for free if you move out of state

I have both the Arsenal AK 47/74 with the locks and I don't mind them.

We already sold 15 Arsenal CA compliant SGL rifles and 1 CA Compliant SAM 7 milled rifle in the last two weeks.

They are selling really well, and the customers who have purchased the rifles like the way the mag lock works, and how smooth the operation is.

I have black stock SGL33-61's in stock.

We have some custom ordered Plum and OD SGL 23 and 33's on order, and we hope to see these in about 2-3 weeks.

Our first SGL23 Plum rifle sold only a couple of days after we received it.

Do they take regular AK magazines (not Saiga)? I'm really asking how much they've been converted.

no 5.56 variants? . I'd definitely buy one before my other rifle purchase soon

These are nice rifles but a big thumbs down on the mag lock.

Agreed. I'm in the process of putting a standard AK mag lock on with a solar tactical lock. It looks pretty simple as it is still a standard AK trigger guard.

We have literally sold every single Arsenal CA compliant rifle we have brought into our shop over the past couple of months, and the customers who have purchased the Arsenal CA compliant rifles have not complained about the Arsenal mag lock.

Some customers have commented that it is very easy to use.

The problems with the Arsenal lock vs the Solar solution are:

1) when you go out of state for the weekend you cannot just undo four screws and have a normal rifle

2) you cannot use the solar mag tool which attached to your magazines and allows you to reload at speed using the same mechanics you would if the lock was not there.

The good news is that with the help of another Calgunner it proved trivial to drill out the Arsenal lock and put in a standard AK magazine release and make it legal via a solar lock. All Arsenal have done is create a proprietary two piece lock that goes inside the standard trigger guard housing. You can reuse the spring and you just need a standard AR magazine release lever and pin.

By removing the Arsenal mag lock on their CA compliant rifle, you just voided their warranty (per what Arsenal has told me).

If anyone has a concerns or input regarding the Arsenal mag lock that come standard on the Arsenal California compliant AK rifles, you can let the guys at K-var / Arsenal know in their vendor forum here on Calguns: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...play.php?f=225

Warranty on a Saiga based AK is not something to worry about! I think the mean time between failures is measured in geological ages.
