Default Review of GKC Armory - Cerakote Job

So I don't have tons of time... but I wanted to take a moment to review a local shop that specializes in Cerakote... anyone unfamiliar with Cerakote...look it up. Since I acquiring my M&P Shield, knowing it would be my EDC; I wanted to treat it to something a little more tough for repeated holstering. yada, yada, yada, I went with Cerakote. I looked up on here for some good people and found Greg (the owner)....Here is his work: He did a M&P 9mm Shield and a Cold Steel Recon 1: Same Colors Graphite Black and Sniper Gray.

...last one was blurry, but I wanted to showcase my XS big dots on em... look awesome. Greg did a fine job.... for a great price... HOWEVER Greg didn't really follow instructions. I made the mistake of being very lax about instructions. I feel as though I was partially to blame. I wanted the sniper gray on the textured surface and on the slide... and the graphite black to ONLY be on the small parts.. like slide stop, breakdown lever, safety etc... I do remember telling him do not touch the rest of the frame, especially the trigger (because I loved it so much). He ended up spraying the entire frame in the graphite black (covering the QR code next to the serial number) and spraying my trigger. I didn't notice when I picked up the gun because it looked incredible, and I really just liked it just as well... so in the end I'm glad he did it, but I wish he would of followed instructions. So if you want specifics be sure to write out VERY SPECIFIC instructions... maybe even take a picture and draw some arrows to what color you want on what parts. He also painted the knife opposite of what I had asked. I wanted Sniper gray on the handle, and graphite black on the blade (because I heard that graphite black was "tougher" than other colors)... he painted the blade sniper gray, and the handle graphite black. Again, not that big of deal.... I should of took pen to paper and wrote him out instructions, as he has many projects going on all at the same time. Final verdict? Would I use him again.... ABSOLUTELY. For the price, and the turn around, you can't beat him. He is a local guy (which I like helping with business) and does everything ON SITE. No using an oven out of the backyard crap. He is the real deal.

A normal picture of the XS Big dots? Cause all of the others are "normal"?

Your post originally only had the top photo in it. Thanks for the info.

Well he's always running specials... so prices vary based on amount of paint to be used, and number of colors. My job was pretty straight up, with pretty popular colors. So he charged me $125... like I said before, quality work.
