Anyone know of HK Armorer Courses near SF Bay Area?
If anyone knows of any upcoming Heckler and Koch armorer courses near the San Francisco Bay area, please post or PM me.
I'm down to one current USP and MP5 armorer and I had to send him all the way down to Southern Cal for the courses. I'm hoping there will be a course up north so I can send about 3 to it. We're a small agency, so sending guys out of the area eats up a lot of my training budget due to hotels, travel and per diem costs. My cops actually love getting sent to the San Diego area for courses and so did I when I was a slick sleeve, but now that I have to look at the budget, things change. |

If you can support HK with a conference room or two, and a range, they may come to you. I did that many moons ago and ended up filling a bunch of classes from agencies throughout the Bay Area. When hotels are no longer on the table, training gets a lot more affordable. BTW, too many moons to remember any names.
Another thought: See if there is anther agency that is open to combining efforts toward hosting a suite of classes. We didn't have to since we had a large range in the foothills and a new building with rooms, etc. You're better together. Last edited by 74c5; 11-04-2018 at 5:28 AM.. Reason: Added info |

Looks like the only one scheduled outside of their office is in Cypress, but that's only for the 416. Give them a call or drop them an email, you might be able to set something up. When I went we did it at SFPD's facilities at Hunter's Point, but that was a while ago.

74c5 and P5Ret, thanks for the advice. I never even thought about hosting before. I do have my own range, so it might work out.
Being a smaller agency and being down about 20 sworn positions makes sending guys out of town for training very challenging. Hosting at our location would be perfect. Now the uphill battle of pushing it through the bureaucracy. 74c5, is that a reference to that old Army Signal MOS? If so, I think it's a 25 series now. I was part of that old time MOS system, 75C, which went away with computers. But I ended up being an 18Z in the end. Pretty drastic change from paper pusher to operator. |
