Triplett & Scott carbine
Here is an old carbine I have had for a long time but I actually know little about it. I understand it is civil war era and was made for the Kentucky militia or national guard. It is a neat gun that rotates to load. I believe it is .50 caliber rimfire.
I would be interested to learn more about it if any one here knows about them. |

Very nice, can you post pics of the action working- those old 'rube goldberg' guns are so fascinating
Does it cock the hammer when you rotate it to load another round, or is that a separate action? -Dave |

Very nice!
One of 5000 made for the Kentucky Home Guard, by Meriden Firearms. Caliber should be 56/50 Spencer. Be extra careful working the action so that you don't make the wrist crack any worse. That was the one design flaw. With the large mag tube coming through the wrist, it didn't leave much wood. The twisting action was enough to crack it. |

Especially with the wood grain running in the wrong direction. It's beautiful walnut but turned 45 degrees the wrong direction through the wrist for strength.
