I tried to order a kit from Dlask , and got an email back (from josef dlask himself) that said they can't ship parts kits from canada into the USA. I'll be pissed if my order was cancelled and they really are shipping them here now!

I got the order confirmation email as well, then it was followed with a cancellation two days later. I'd email them and verify. This was just two weeks ago.
Anyone in canada want to do a group buy on dlask kits?? :P

Jaguar- money has not exchanged as of yet. We are still in the process of gathering and confirming that we have 100 frames minimum. Last count of confirmed/commuted frames was about 42. Stand by your inbox and Goober should be sending you a PM.

I got the no go from Dlask yesterday about the parts kits. I looked into it and it sounds like anything over $100 and barrels needs paperwork. I hinted at splitting up the kits but I don't think they bit. They did say if I wanted a trigger for my Para it wouldn't be a problem

Personally, I don't think this GB will have the same issues the Ares GB is having.
the only thing holding me back is the lack of a way to finish the frame. There has been no mention of any sort of build party. And I have no problem working on a manual mill myself, just need access with some guidance. |

Yeah it's pretty straight forward to finish. A mill, dial indicator, drill bits & reamers, and woodruff cutter. Once it gets confirmed I am certain that dimensions and prints will be given by KTO just the same as his other products.

Well, I called SIG about the caliber change kits.
These kits are apparently only intended for the classic 22. But quickly poking through the web, it seems they will work just fine for us with regard to the P226. The P226 frame and slide designs are relatively the same across the entire P226 series to include the classic 22. The P229 classic 22 slide uses a slightly different design than the rest of the 229 series, so the caliber change kits will not work with existing centerfire P229s. But since we are building our frames from scratch, it could probably be done anyway. Of course they aren't in stock and they have no idea when they will be in. I asked if they will be the first ones to be resupplied being that they are SIG, and was told, "Yes, I *AM* sig sauer, of course I will have them first!" verbatim. lol. Guy is an enthusiastic employee to say the least. They are taking backorders, but have no idea when they will be in. He said their system temporarily charges your card $1 to verify the account, and the balance will be charged whenever the kit ships. SIG themselves are a bit more expensive than other retailers by $50-60 it seems. Is it worth the premium? Ehh. I'd be more eager to commit if I had some frames in hand, or at least knew for certain that the GB will go through. So.... GET THOSE CONFIRMATIONS IN!!! |

Look, we can't all bid on the same parts kits on gunbroker ok?? Geez guys. I'm the high bidder on the 228 kit right now, leave it alone !! :P
ETA: OR ELSE!

yup, yer on the "confirmed" list. we've got 50 confirmed frames now. there are still about 30 "interested" folks that haven't responded to the conf PM, and new peeps have been signing on at about 1 or 2 a day, so there is hope...
