The sig p226 and the 2022 were next on my list before this frenzy started...

I like my sp2022 in 9mm but dont love it. Why? The double action trigger pull is ridiculously long. This would only be a problem if it was to be your carry pistol.

Also did some testing with the 10 round .40 s&w mags(out of state of course).

The .40/.357 sig mags work, they even hold up to 13 9mm rounds BUT...

They caused about 4 failures to feed over 300 rounds, It seemed that the bullets would kind of bind up in the mag body, causing them to rise slower than the slide can reload a round.

As for the stock (plastic) grips, they kind of suck. I purchased a Hogue Hand-All slip on grip... got rid of that. Ended up buying some Sig Pro rubber grips (Medium), and makes a world of difference. The Hogue Hand-All is great too, but just didn't like the slip-on because it made the grip slightly larger.
Good to know. I'll definately consider a Hogue grip after a few runs at the range. As for now, I really like the grip feel. I'll give it a go this weekend at Chabot range.

I had one and several mags. I liked it but never fell in love with it. Ended up selling it to help pay for a 1911. I had enough 9mm pistols at the time anyway.

So you re talking about using 9mm rounds in a .40 mag?

I got mine in 9mm in Feb and in a month so far I've put 700 rounds without any problems. Like everyone said, it only comes with 1 mag and they're little on the pricey side. But I had no problem finding them at Turners and Ammo Bros. for $40 each.

Just ordered 2 mags 9mm as well. I agree, it it what it is. If the company itself is selling the mags for this price, I can just imagine how much sellers will be selling this in ebay. These magazines are scarce. Might as well wait. By the way, when did they charge your credit card?

I used to own a P226R and got the 2022 to kind of fill that hole without breaking the bank. Would love to get another proper sig (226/220), but it's hard for me to justify a grand on a pistol that's not a 1911. 2022 would be great on its own, but compared to the old 226 it just... didn't do it for me.

The SP2022 is an ugly gun--not quite as ugly as a ruger or an XD, but ugly. If you want ugly in a similar price range, you should get a glock. Otherwise, stick to a proper sig (metal framed).

I recieved my mags yesterday by Fedex, They charged my card when they shipped. I was told if they did it by debit it would take the funds then but it did not. Also while you are waiting and you see a charge for $1 its to make sure your funds are available. It may dissappear after aa few days but your order is still valid.

I have a P229 R EE in .40, it replaced the G22 that I had before it. The 1911 I had was a Springfield GI with American frame. Sold it to a buddy of mine that wanted a Springfield. Reason was I could not give up my G21 in OD. I like it too much. I understand the part about spending 1K on a pistol. They are pricey but the main reason I got rid of my 1911 was I do not like guns that have to be "broken in" per say. FTF or FTE. I got stove pipes and FTE with the 1911. Great shooting pistol as too accuracy and ease of shooting.

Now my comment is not about all 1911's just the one I owned. I still have one on my list but the models I am looking at are well over a grand if not two. For the fourty platform I really like the Sig.

You guys may know this already, but PSA is selling both the 9 and .40 for $419. Also a P938. Maybe time to add to the family.

Do it! I own the original model the SP2009, it was my first of many gun purchases. The only difference is the newer 2022 model has a picatinny rail and mine has a rail that nothing really fits on. ive had this pistol since 2002 its accurate, reliable and well a SIG. I picked this model over the Glock and new XD (at the time) due to it being hammer fired and not striker fired. Its one of the few polymer pistols that is not striker fied. The trigger and ergonomics are way better then a Glock IMHO. one thing to keep in mind, is that there are not alot of aftermarket parts for this pistol. So if your looking to buy all these knick knacks like you would a Glock, its not going to happen.

I used to think the same. I thought all polymers pistols were ugly and cheap. After 4 full size metal guns, the poly popularity started growing on me. I initially wanted the HK USP, but damn, $1K was too much for me. XDM was next on my list be that was in the $900's. So PX4, Ruger P90, Glock, and SP2022, and a few others was left to choose from. Can't go wrong with a SIG.

Cool and good to know. I woke up at 5:30am last week just to call them and place the 3 Sigpro 10rd 9mm on back order. I got an email today that the order will ship soon. $46 each, no tax and shipping. $138 OTD.

Sweet, no tax and free shipping. I may have to get some for myself, thanks.

And yes, the Sig Pro 2022 is the real deal. Love shooting mine... it feels great, and I got an awesome deal on it from Turner's a while back which makes it even sweeter.

Who cares if it's ugly if it will kill someone just as dead?

Sorry man I did not see your question earlier but I ordered from Sig directly.
Which by what you posted after looks like you did the same. The person I talk too over there is Jay Bernotas. I was reffered to him by another member when I was looking for other parts. Jay is a great guy and always gets back to me. The member who reffered him to me is also very cool but I dont want to put him on the spot. He knows who he is though.

Just took this pic last night. Forgot to mention that I was close to selling it after the first few mods, but over time/shooting it... I love it now and would've regretted it big time.

At $419.99, that is an awesome deal. But there's a fine print in red indicating that the high capacity mag will be removed when shipping to California. At about $50 per mag, the price is not such a good deal after all.

I have to say, "that's one nice SP2022". I like the two tone look and accessories; especially the grip. I'm a sucker to stainless steel guns and have 4 of them already. My SP2022 purchase was intended to fill that, (all black tactical look), void; in addition to owning my 1st polymer pistol. The most I'll do is add a laser dot.
