Default Tijuana Tour Guide Armed/Unarmed.

Cal Gunners, if you are going to TJ and need an escort, let me know, I do that for a part time job. I can provide Unarmed and Armed Escort services.

They let you carry there? Seriously how do I get that permit? The GF always wants to go and I think it's WAY to dangerous right now.

I will answer any serious inquiries via PM. let me put it this way, if you were born in Mexico and you registered with the Mexican Armed Forces when you were of age (which I did), and you know who to talk to (which I do) and you have an American Personal Protection Company to back you up (which I do), you go trough their State Police training (which I did) and you are good to go.

Let me tell you, these services are not cheap, we are looking at anywhere from 2k a day to 10k a day, but for you Cal Gunners, I can work something way cheaper.

One warning.
The 'clever' comments and 'cutesy' posts are going to cost Chief his advertisement, again.
This was already deleted once because people thought it would be fun to turn this in to a joke thread.
I have had to delete 16 posts in this thread alone since yesterday, you're NOT helping Chief out with this.
I did not set this forum up to give another venue for this stuff.

It's also a service that is almost impossible to find someone who is qualified to do!

Out of curiosity, and I totally understand if this question is out of line, but is the cost so much because of 'fees' paid along the way? Did you have to work up a lot of contacts? Thanks.

Awesome. I haven't been to TJ in over a decade and never during the day. I've always wanted to check it out in daylight and do something besides hit the clubs.

I'm getting married in SD in June. Some relatives have fond memories of TJ from the 70s and expressed interest in going back. I wasn't too keen on sending my 50 and 60 year old relations into TJ given what's going on there. Your offer may cause me to reconsider as June gets closer.

im sure that has alot to do with it. Also, the price reflects him providing personal security for you and guarding your life. That alone can be priceless if something ever happened and you were kept safe.

I understand that part, just wanted to know how much of it was buying the privilege to be in certain areas, and where that portion goes exactly (Civilian individuals, gov individuals, etc.)

I dont think any of the money goes to any civilians, gov officials, etc, but rather help him recoop the cost of getting access and permits to his being able to be legally armed in Mexico. Not sure tho, im sure Mario will chime in here shortly.

At my command, we have to request to go to Mexico and have it get approved. With the current situation down there, I don't think I would get approved. But this is Coast Guard, not the Navy, and I think all commands have different policys.

Permit = 100-1000 dollar bribe depending on the cop and if you get caught.

I personally find this line of work fascinating. Chief, what happens if you actually are involved in an incident while going through Mexico? I trust you have contingency plans and high level connections?

Well, those are not "Tours". Those are Executive Protection jobs. There are lots of "Maquilladoras" industrial parks in TJ where lots of Executives from the U.S. go to on a daily basis. They are prime targets for kidnappings and they need to rent a level IV armored vehicle + the Operator + the rest of the armed detail, + the insurance (for dealing with the kidnappers/paying kidnappers in the event that they do get kidnapped), that is where it gets expensive. But for your average Joe that works from 9-5 and does not have any money, no, there ain't really a need for the services. But it is available.

Yes, there are contingency plans that are set in place before the detail is carried out. We contact the RSO at the U.S. Consulate in the Mexican State where we will be working and we inform them of our plans + schedule. And yes on the high level connections.

("Tijuana Tour Guide Armed/Unarmed") I misunderstood the title of your thread then.

USN Chief, Your a brave man. That's in country for sure when it goes down!
Heading down TJ way (playa de Tiquana) for the superbowl with a friend born and raised there who visits frequently. Was there a few months ago with him and did not feel out of place. You got to know someone and know where your going. I (gringo grande) would not try and solo it! However I"ll be at the Adelita bar for the game if the mescal don't hurt me! "Lo mejor aqui" -g
