Default Best Prices in the Sac area on guns and FFL transfer fees?

Ive been to Gun Vault in Rocklin, also SBR now in Citrus heights. Seems like these online places have some serious deals out there that beat our locals.
Such as: Cheaper than dirt, Palmetto, ect...
Will any locals match online that anyone knows of?
Example. Palmetto sent me an email on a Kel-tech KSG for $699. Nobody local would come close.
Also, Sportsman Warehouse does transfers for $100 while Gun Vault does it for $50.
Any help would be appreciated.

No local gun shop is going to match a blowout price from a website. At best you will get them to price match another local gun store and even that can be difficult unless you have a good relationship with them.

The cheapest transfers I heard of locally was I believe Golden State Tactical. http://www.goldenstatetactical.com/ He is located in Fair Oaks.

I may be late, but Robby at Golden State Tactical has been great to me over the years. I purchase and transfer all of my firearms through him now.

Will any of these dealers accept shipment from a private party?

Good luck with Cheaper than Dirtbags...they won't even ship a trigger assembly to CA.

Your talking about PSA? Yes they will ship to The Gun Range if that is what you are asking. They just need the shipping and ffl info. Be sure to make your arrangement with your chosen ffl before buying it from psa.

Sapperforward, your response was unhelpful. I posted because none of the FFLs was open at that hour.

Here is some information to share: Sacramento Gun Club has raised its dealer transfer fee to $75. There is an additional charge for more than one gun in a single DROS. When the transfer fee was $50 the additional charge was $35. I do not know what it is today and the charge is not posted on their website. The information about their fees posted on Gunbroker is incorrect and out of date. Sacramento Gun Club will only accept shipments from FFL dealers.

Survival Instinct Firearms on Mather Field Road has a dealer transfer fee of $25. They will only accept shipments from FFL dealers. I spoke with Larry this afternoon.

I'm so sorry my response to call them was unhelpful. Most folks would think to do it during business hours. Next time I'll break it down into more easily understood directions.

Im also sorry I wasted your time suggesting you call a business to confirm information posted in an online forum. I'll never offer such horrible advice to another Calgunner again.

So far Survival Instinct looks like my "go to." They told me federal law prevents them from accepting shipments from private parties, as have others, but according to the ATF website this is not so.

ASP in Vacaville charges $35 (including DROS) for PPT. Makes me think some of our local shops are smoking something when setting their prices.

We're talking about ffl to ffl transfer fees not simple ppt dros fees. 99% of the time that's going to be $35. There is a lot of variation in transfer fees and they will range from $25-$100 plus dros.

PPT is not the same as dealer shipment. PPT fees are set by statute. Your lack of understanding does not make others dopers.

BTW: what's it cost in time and money to travel to Vacaville from Sacramento? Twice?

The Gun Range on watt is $25 and they will accept shipments from private parties/non-licensees as long as there is a clear, legible, color photo copy of the shippers state issued ID.

Placer Tactical is also very reasonable at $40 and will also accept shipments from non-licensees. He also blocks mags and handles single action exemptions. He is appointment only for now but a great guy to deal with.

I usually offer to visit ASP when purchasing from folks in the Bay Area. ASP is extremely accommodating.

But to answer your specific question: a lot more for me than you.

And that seems irrelevant to the subject of this thread, which is "best prices in the Sacramento area".

Another recommendation for Placer Tactical if looking to do a FFL transfer.

Keep in mind that out of state transfers are subject to CA tax per CA BOE laws. Tack on whatever tax for the value of the firearm based on location of the receiving FFL and expect to be charged the amount by said FFL.

Also, Sapper's response made me lol.

We accept shipments from private parties as long as the gun is CA legal and the seller provides a copy of their Drivers License and we get a copy of the bill of sale. We charge 35.00 for Internet transfers and NOBODY is faster at transferring a firearm than us. The trade off?? You need to have an appointment. Plus our gun prices are among the very best. . . . . .Why? no overhead.
