Default cutting the stock for fit

Purchased a new O/U, and need the stock cut about 1 1/8" for a
better fit. I know you all own Skilsaws, but is there someone you would
recommend that does this, that's not back up 8 weeks with work?

Any local gunsmith should be able to do it, but are you sure you want to cut that much off?

Is it for a youth or woman? And what about a recoil pad?

Use a shotgun smith/fitter and get the length right. Also, if you are going to use a pad, have that be part of the measurement. Its been years, but I think Bob Day did a Citori 325 for me and installed a Kick Eze pad. He lengthened the forcing cones too. He did good work and I shoot that gun very well.

Measure twice, cut once ...

Try tron - a lot of the trapshooters.com forum members do:
https://tronspace.com
You’ll have to ship it but I hear he’s fast - probably not the cheapest but it’s good work -

I cut shaped and fitted my trapgun’s stock (was semi inletted/finished) and it turned out ok...although my pad fitting and shaping skills suck lol

I'd recommend R & D Custom Barrel Service in Pico Rivera, CA. I like the LOP to be 13.5, and the owner Bob Day did gun fitting for all my shotguns.

I had Bob adjust the LOP on my CZ SxS and you can't tell it was done.

Thanks, I got a call into Bob now, to see if he's backed up, or
can he do it in the next couple weeks. Thanks all

Op, you have a good, repeatable gun mount, right? As verified by someone that knows what a good, repeatable gun mount looks like, right?

You could use the proper LOP measurements, and have a new stock made?

^^^^^

I had a beautifully done, stock and fore- end, made by Macon Gunstocks. They were made for an old Savage 311A. Excellent case color, new wood, and a Kick Eez pad. Really looks great!

Sorry, no pictures. Iím working

Dont do it yourself in no way.
As i heard, but i might be wrong, any 1/4" LOP shim adds 1" in LOP whatever it means. Sounds weird, but it is what it is
So, if you cut 1" it might be too short for you.

I think it is in this vid, starting on 1.20 min

I hate to agree with YSR, but you almost never cut a stock, unless you have alligator arms or it’s for a kid.

I've been telling women this is ten inches since I was 16 years old.

Hm, any smart man knows, you cannot explain/prove anything to a woman, especially dimensions. All my life I try to explain it is only 4" but they insist it is 20"
