All that means is that you cant use your 03 FFL to make money. For example if you bought 10 surplus K98 rifles and then sold them all within a month or two, it would most likely set off a red flag.

When you buy from the "kind folks are selling us parts, accessories, etc", you aren't the one conducting business, the "kind folks" are.

If you take the stuff you buy and turn around and sell it for a profit, then YOU are conducting business.

Out of curiosity to the OP (or anyone else who does this), is there a particular reason for the choice of red ink to sign the license copies? Is it just to make clear that the signature on the copy is original?

For Graf & Sons, they will accept a signed, scanned copy of your FFL via email.

http://www.grafs.com/dealer/newdealer.php

A day after I emailed my copy, I received an email detailing how to create a new dealer account online.

ETA - For 03 FFL, DO NOT fill out the boxes, just use the email link. The Boxes are for 01 FFL only.

Great sticky. 2 quick adds:

1) I sent my FFL to Wideners and I *think* they give a discount (but I am only 80% sure on that.

2) As to Classic Arms, after buying 5 rifles from them in the last 24 months I have to agree with your frustration about getting them on the phone but disagree with your assessment of them. They are top notch folks. Sure, they are hard to get on the phone but they are a bunch of really decent people trying to sell guns in, what for them is an unfamiliar medium (i.e. the Internet). That doesn't excuse it but when I can get them on the phone, esp. the owner who often answers the call I get helpful advice, top notch service and he's a really nice guy to boot. Some of his jokes, while corny, are hysterical. Esp. the one about the duck & the grapes

I did have a CS issue with them on one of the rifles I bought and they more then took care of me. The prices are almost always good to great, what I get is always in better then promised condition and they have earned my trust. For what it's worth... that is my experience.

Thx again for the sticky.

Scanned my FFL03 into a PDF and emailed it to several companies.
Discounts in place from Brownell's, Midway, Numrich; FFL on file with AIM Surplus (they say they will have a discount program in place in March or so), J&G want me to mail a copy to them to go on file. Widener's replied they have no FFL discount program. All this from emails out Sunday about 4pm and responses by noon om Monday. The discounts range from about 10% for Numrich and Midway (10% or less on some items), to something more at Brownell's (does not look like an absolute percentage).

I think everyone I emailed responded.

Once you have a C&R, do you have to keep a record of every gun you purchase, even if your license wasn't involved, i.e. buying a modern handgun thru a FFL dealer?

****GRAFS UPDATE****

I've been sending out my C&R to all the usual places, and just got an email back from grafs about getting my dealer pricing. I've got a dealer account but I've been informed that i'll loose it after a year if I'm not spending $2000 annually . Just something I thought you all would like to know.

I faxed my 03 FFL to Brownells and provided my account login, email, and other personal information at about 2:30 today and received an email from them 10 minutes later letting me know that it had been received. Now when I login I get dealer pricing

Emailed a PDF copy of my FFL to DealerSales@MidwayUSA.com along with my account number and other personal information last night, this AM my account had been updated.

AIMsurplus.com has a section in your account profile to upload a PDF of your FFL, I uploaded mine yesterday and sent a follow-up email to see if that was all I needed to do and they replied to me this AM saying they had received it and my account had been updated.

Glad you are all enjoying the process of getting discounts and getting to be - almost - back to being a citizen of the USA who has rights to a 2nd amendment!

You all are reminding me I have my FFL03 renewal paperwork sitting here, guess it's time for another $30.

Red face EMF Company

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that EMF Company will give you dealer pricing if you have a C&R. They do not have any C&R but they do sell the FMK "Bill of Rights" 9mm Pistol that would look good in any ones collection.

Faxed a copy of my FFL over to Midway today after lunch and just got an e-mail saying my account had been modified. Awesome.

One question, and maybe this is wishful thinking but, when we get dealer pricing already, we can't take advantage of any Midway promotion codes going on, can we? I tried for fun and it doesn't seem to work. I wasn't expecting it to though.

If you get an account with Brownells, does it carry over to their sister site, http://www.sinclairintl.com/ ?

Anyone find an exceptional good deals or BF deals from any of these vendors? Century has some decent deals on ammo and Mosin snipers.

I was on the verge of making application for the C&R, until the incident of the shooting of the AZ Representative Gifford. Think I will lay low(er) and watch what happens for a while.

Why? Most of the country is not afraid of guns. You have been brainwashed by the California paranoia.

Yep, I was living here in CA when it was decided that SKS rifles should be registered. . .just to keep track. Then, 3 yrs later, they decided that all such guns must be turned in to the sheriff, for a renumeration of $200. Failure to comply got you arrested. . .if you had put your name on the books when first told.

As the oft quoted saying goes, "just because I am (justifiably) paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me!"

I don't, but a little prudence never hurts. After-all, if I weren't, I wouldn't be hanging out at a site geared towards those who believe in guns rights, liberty and the 2nd amendment.

I've emailed (no fax) my license to MidwayUSA, Brownells, Graf's, and Wideners. All set me up with a dealer account immediately.

I saved the cost of the license buying 1 scope. Brownells discounts quite a bit and so does MidwayUSA but with MidwayUSA you lose the use of coupon codes.

Southern Ohio Gun activated my account immediately.

AIM surplus put my C&R on file immediately.

J&G has no dealer pricing. We only accept C&R license by mail with an inked signature. Please make a copy, sign and mail to: 440 Miller Valley, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Centerfire Systems put my C&R on file immediately.

Sinclair INTL requires a tax license.

Most of these places I just emailed a scanned copy of my license

Wiedners had no dealer pricing, put my C&R on file immediately.

Correct. You have to be an informed shopper with Midway and their coupon codes. Sometimes, its cheaper to go that way rather than log in as yourself and get the "dealer discount".

I placed an order with Bud's Gunshop for a Mosen Nagent Hex receiver 7.62x54R rifle. These are 5 round rifles. I already have a Mosen Nagent sniper rifle. They are C&R. I am an FFL03. They wanted an FFL01. I cancelled the order.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL.

Peter Grace,

A customer support staff member has replied to your support request, #532924 with the following response:

Due to the strict laws within your state and the fact that we do not deal with many of the C&R license eligible firearms we will only ship to a type 01 FFL at this time. I am not familiar with the DOJ's ruling on C&R's and we can not afford to risk our license on a shipment at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions.

Thank you for the business,
Derek
