Thanks! I've never actually measured it, but I've heard it's about 26 1/2" with the collapsible stock - just legal!

Nice bro. I'm pulling what hair I have out waiting for my GSG. This gun just looks fun, haha, like a grown mans cap gun. When I was a kid I had a Red Ryder and thought I was a cowboy. haha, now I'm an adult (just by age) and cant wait for my GSG to pretend I'm a merc or something. Haha, good times.

Maybe those guys at ARF.com leave em in their trunks to bounce around
without checking the tightness on their hardware?

1500 rounds so far and the stock bits have only needed a minor tightening at 1000 or there abouts.

ready for action tomorrow

- Vortex Strikefire with low mounts
- GSG-5 handguard with rails (given by a friend; thanks)
- vertical grip (not sure which, but also given by a friend; thanks!)
- Classic Army airsoft collapsible stock (the new one that is more metal). But I actually prefer the check weld of the original stock, which I just keep in the bag too.
- did the bolt mods

about 1600 rounds only so far. have field strip twice all the way to bolt assembly and trigger (of course, losing the mag lock detent spring as it came flying away during assembly LOL)

i also removed the rear sight because it's in the way of the Strikefire's 2x magnifier. I just keep in the bag in case of optics failure.

Thks for everyone's response..... TONELAR... when u say minor tightening are you referring to the plastic screws that are used on the body frame of the firearm and the one's located in this link I am presenting... http://shepherdautosales.com/screws/tips.htm

...
D. The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip

It doesn't say rimfire, is there a different loophole?

Also, if I get stationed outside of California next, what would be the best way to make an MP5A3? Would I have to get a regular GSG-5 and have it chopped and SBRed, or do they make a 9 inch barrel pistol version that you could attach a stock to and create a rifle?

I believe they just need to be maglocked and single-shotted for DROS and then you're good to go after that... it's just a bit of a process and you have to find a company that is willing to deal with it. Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The rimfire part doesn't matter - it is still a pistol with the magazine outsand the pistol grip which = AW in CA.

Thanks, I tried to keep it clean/simple and put a 551 on it (I know, when would I need NV-compatibility?). On the next one, I'll mix it up.

There is one made by G&G (Part G03060) that works fantastic! I used it.

I am a little baffled by this pic. 1. Is this thing over 26"? and 2. Why is there a mag lock on a .22?

to answer your questions....

1) no it is not over 26 inches... its a pistol it doesn't have to be

2) there is a mag lock because there is no rimfire exemption for .22 pistols.... without the mag lock you can't get it in the state of CA (assault weapon).

Must be some sort of loophole there. Did a LEO bring it into the state?

I'm guessing it got in through the "single shot pistol" method that is used to get AR pistols here as well.... just a guess though.

Oh, and sweet looking gun there AJAX!
