Talking My new AR biuld will be featured in a Sci-Fi movie

I got a call the other day from a friend of mine who is a former navy seal and he asked me if I wanted to come down and watch him film some SWAT scenes for a Sci-fi movie called RISE. Think I robot and Blade runner. So we started talking about which weapons he'd be using and we decided to bring down my new AR biuld to see if the director would let him use it in the film. This guy who worked on this film also worked on Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise. They used my friends scope for one of the sniper shots in the film. So I brought it down and we showed the director and he loved my rifle so much he let him use it instead of the air soft crap they had in storage. My new rifle has a bushmaster upper, stag lower, quad rail, surefire foregrip, aimpoint red dot with 3x magnifier, magpull stock. Never put one round through it even though now it will be in a movie. All the scenes were filmed in a warehouse in Culver City. They let me hang out on the set and took some pics of them shooting. (Don't worry I made sure the weapon was cleared and my friend brought a former sheriff swat officer as an advisor) Supposedly we'll get invited to the premiere. A lot of the sets were filmed green screen, on camera everything looks pretty good. My rifle had a ton of close up shots and will be featured in the trailor as well because of the LED surefire lights on the foregrip.

In the future we are still using AR15s to fight robots? Sweet!

What does that mean? Anyway they were all very grateful to have me on the set and it was fun to watch them bust through drywall. All the gunshots will be CGI for these scenes. They can recreate gunfire and brass flying digitally. I had a lot of fun even though it got pretty late.

That is actually pretty dang cool!

Found it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2140341/

Not exactly the A list, but it's a real Hollywood movie. Nice score pulling the trailer.

Very nice!

If possible, get the director, stunt co-ordinater, or prop master to give you a letter or some provenance with the serial number of your gun listed and a description of the rifle, that it was used in the movie. If the movie becomes a hit, you now have a valuable piece of cinematic history

Good point! And some better pics, of course.

Even if the only development is that someone associated with the movie gains more fame later, it should add greatly to the value of the AR. Heck, fans are willing to pay thousands of dollars to prop stores for rubber prop guns.

Good advice, I will ask him about it when they invite us over. Apparently the guy likes the way I dress up guns so he said he'd love to pick my brain about gun ideas. I have his card as well.
