I've been looking around for a group - but in a different sense. I'm not so much looking for referals - I'm looking at discussing business in general, tactics, ways to better the way my business runs.

Is this basically not for me?

Blitz, it depends what type of business you plan on running. Besides me, I don't know if anyone is technically a business owner, and even then, I'm really an Independent contractor.

I own a couple of basically Electrical Wholesale Companies. Not in the usual sense though - One sells only Fuses, yes... fuses. Specialty Distributor. Most of my business now comes from the Internet so that's where my focus has been for the past few years. www.discountfuse.com

The other company sells Surplus Electrical Products. Mostly Motor Control and Automation. We specialize in Allen-Bradley. That company is a hand shake partnership with someone I've known for a very long time. He travels the country and buys the parts - I sell the parts. I don't own any of the inventory - just sell it. As far as referals go - I of course would never turn down a new customer, but I'm more interested in ways to run my businesses. New ideas - even old ones that work. I'd be interested in talking about managing businesses more than anything else.

Andrew, tell me your thoughts - is this something I would be interested in and and I contribute to the discussion or not? If it's just about getting or passing on "leads" per se, I would think I would be counted out, as my businesses are very esoteric to say the least.

Blitzburgh, my apolgies for the delay. I thought that I had subscribed to this thread. In my opinion, I don't know, haha. My business for instance, just about anyone can use my services. How many people can use yours? That would be the determining factor for me.
For instance, if only people who own auto shops would benefit you, then probably not, if almost anyone could benefit from it, then yes, I think it would be a good idea.

I think a meet every first Wednesday of the month is probably the easiest way to remember this. Input appreciated.

SillyGuy, we have a photographer already going, but I will reach out to him, and see if he is still interested. I spent a ton of time gathering people together, and it just didn't seem to go smoothly. It's difficult trying to get people to commit to something.
