Default $10 Tapco Ak rebuilds durability.

Hey guys,
Seems like I couldn't find anything on a durability test of the current $10 Tapco magazines on the market. I had read old posts about the plastic failing at the lip and base due to flimsy and not reinforced . One major post that stuck out stated the owner had left it loaded and walked away from the magazine only to find out it failed at the base and shot his 30 rounds of 7.62x39 out the bottom of his magazine after the plastic holding the base plate failed.

A couple months ago I decided to legally test one of them out. I'm not sure on the "generation" but I was told it was recently purchased so I'm assuming it was the current model. I wanted to know if I could have the same potential problems.

I loaded up the magazine and let it sit for 3 months fully loaded. (The previous owner had done this as well with no issues) and then started dropping it from waste height on concrete. 10x with no failures before I let it sit for 3 months. Then checked function, ran fine. Then after sitting for 3 months I did the same thing dropped it loaded, 10x, without a problem.

The nice thing is from what I've read Is that Tapco will replace them without question & unlike my Steele rebuilds they don't seem to be as prone to rusting.
Just figured this might help someone out there debating their worth.

How are they going to replace them now with the magazine rebuild ban? They are nice got a few at the price havent tryed em yet though. If it failes I guess I could always add some metal reinforcements to it.

That crossed my mind As well, ill try to cAll them today but the only thing that I could think of wAs possible ship to out of state address....Er I mean donate it to a out of state buddy.

^ follow up. Just got off the phone with Tapco, they said they have never changed their Ak mag design. They comfirmed that all their products have. Lifetime warranty and they cover shipping both ways.
I asked if they covered me running over the mag with my car, and after a couple seconds of awkward silence they said probably not. But any field testing was covered.

Ya they sure are and I love the bakelites . To clearify I'm not saying these are better. Steel is for sure more durable. I only wrote this because couldn't find anything on if the issues I had read about were fixed.

Maybe make a mold for casting so that you can make the part to fix the damage. Since commiefornia wont let you buy something to fix it.
