Sling for Sig522

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for getting a proper Appleseed sling for my SIG 522. It has three attachment points, a ring on the front of the hand guard, a post in the middle back (before the stock), and a ring in the rear of the stock.

I'm new to the use of a sling myself, but I believe that just the front attachment point is needed

there is a ring on the bottom of the assembly in front of the hand guard. it is for the bayonet. there is another attachment point on the left side of this assembly for the sling.
watch your sling tension, there can (and probably will be) enough tension to effect the point of impact. at last that's the way mine acts

We had a fellow with a SIG 522 at the last West End Appleseed. The sling worked way better for him after we attached it to the bottom rather than the side (zip ties in the field!). Reason being, with a side attachment it's easy for sling tension to make the rifle rotate, something we call "canting."

Try it before the shoot. If you can use the sling without canting, then you're good to go. Otherwise try to rig it so that canting is not a problem.

Side-mounted sling swivels are for carrying, not practical accuracy. This problem isn't limited to SIG's -- I've seen it with lots of rifles, including AR's, Mosins, and M1 Carbines. For some people's geometry it works out, for others it doesn't. Just have to try it and see.

Sure does. Here is a link to the last West End shoot, complete with pictures.

The Junior Range at West End is .22 only and only 25 meters, but it's as nice a place to shoot as you'll find.
