Default SAVAGE .17 MAG ISSUE

Just bought a .17 Savage with the rotary mag and having ongoing problems with mag staying in place. can't fire a whole mag(10 rds) without the mag coming loose or completely ejecting. Is this a known problem? Been on hold with Savage for 30 min and gave up. Thx

Are you talking about the A17?
Try watching on you tube tips on how to prevent that problem.
One solution is to insert the mag while the bolt is pulled backwards, then release the bolt. Make sure you hear a clicking sound when the mag is inserted. I also have the same rifle and I rarely encounter this problem

Yes A17, tried the bolt open gig too, will try utube next. "Rarely" isn't acceptable to me, I need "virtually never" Admittedly it's not a super quality weapon but it should perform at a serviceable level? Thanks for the info and tip though!!

They can be tricky but I have never had a problem with mine.

Savage makes accurate firearms but their mags suck. Put the mag in,bang, bang, click. Looked down and the mag is on the ground, nah, got rid of it.
