@robledo, @ThinkKrink415, @Rusty_Shackleferd, @CouchOperator,
Thanks for taking an interest. The eye relief on the EoTech magnifier unfortunately was not ideal for my preference when mounting anything behind it. I tested a few optic mounting positions for my personal preference before ending with the pictured set up. If I were just to have the holo without a magnifier, I would have kept the rear BUI mounted to the furthermost rear mounting position. This is also a 14.5' SBR, so the rail I believe is only 13.5'. Although a rear BUI mounting position would have been the best option, with it mounted behind the magnifier I could not get a full sight picture through the magnifier objective unless the stock was completely collapsed. Being 6'1 and my arms fairly long, I wasn't going to make that work. With the magnifier mounted on the last upper rail notch, I can extend the stock to full extend and still get a full/clear picture through the objective with my head on the cheek rest. I still get a true cowitness at closer distances with the holo & irons and am just as accurate with the holo or irons out to 100+ yards. With the irons mounted the way they are at the moment, it is slightly more difficult on target pick up, but what I sacrifice there creates a more seamless pickup with my main optic system. At the least, the BUIs are still installed & ready to deploy after the (8) 123A batteries (stored onboard in water tight bays within the LMT stock & magpul pistol grip) fail on me. Money to throw around? Not so much.... but Rusty, you're welcome to help fund a Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20..... Last edited by _GH05T_; 12-29-2016 at 8:15 AM.. |

Because bigger brother (.308) wants to play too; just needs an LMT lower and a few goodies

Personally for me I like the Keymod due to the slimmer grip circumference, but MLOK aesthetically is more appealing. |

I'll add this though; for any real gear that'll be used, I'd prefer to attach it via quad-rail.

Just picked up a SR 30 lower last week. Sadly, bullet button isn't an option anymore, Upper came from a Colt 6920 but replaced the handguard with a URX 4 13" (was planning to get a 14.5" barrel but decided to stick with the stock Colt 16"), so I now got a SR 30 lower to match the handguard. However, I am looking to get an actual SR 15 upper in the near future though. Last edited by tripleu; 02-12-2018 at 9:32 PM.. |
