Default Went in to get diapers brought home a 10/22

My first .22 actually. Ruger 10/22 Lasermax edition. $330 out the door( Did I do good?). Probably gonna sell off the laser and use those funds for a new stock and barrel Who makes the most reliable hicap magazines? I heard good things about the BX-25 magazines as well as Butler Creek steel lips. Any other suggestions? And where do you guys buy your accessories for this baby? All help appreciated thanks!

From what I heard, the BX-25's and Butler Creek's are pretty much the only decent "hi-cap" magazines.

The ammo is actually from my stash from almost 2 years ago. Wife picked them up from Wally World thinking it was for my AR... in .223 I knew it would be a matter of time before I bought a rim fire to shoot it with and what better time then now with the current climate.

that looks really cool, kinda pricey but very nice. Is the laser part of the stock?
if you get a few bucks for the laser then maybe it's not so high priced .
if I were you I'd shoot it a bunch first and then decide on selling any parts off it.

tac sol is also similar to bx's since you in two states. any .920 bull barrel would be fine. I like my wood stock but I also have a decked out scary looking ATI folder with a bipod scope and power custom internal parts - check with all the different online retailers, 10/22 has a HUGE aftermarket - welcome to my addiction of .22 lr ( i just cant find ammo like I had in the past, plus I dont want to pay $75 for a box of 500)

rimfirecentral is another great forum for rimfires

oh how I miss living in Seattle. you could get CWP, buy a long gun and walk out of the store with it the same day.

I also miss the deals that you could get at the big box stores because they did not know what they had in inventory till it went on clearance for 90% off. that is how I got a winchester 20 gauge auto loader for $35 at Kmart and a Remington 597 at walmart for $12

You don't need a CPL to take a long gun home same day; just for handguns.

It's posts like this one that make me wish Walmart still sold guns here in California, or maybe it makes me glad they don't. It could get expensive if they did.
And plus one on rimfire central. Not as active as Calguns but extremely helpful and knowledgeable people.

For someone currently in a free state, the distinction is important. You cannot bring them into CA unless you possessed them in California prior to January 1, 2000.

Izzy, Rimfire Central is much more active than the rimfire forum here on Calguns. But Calguns in total is much more active than Rimfire Central. That's what I meant.
And I love em both too. If I had to pick one I wouldn't.

Well it didn't take long. Already ordered my first mods Ordered the Kidd auto bolt release and Kidd bolt buffer Now I'm just gonna shoot it for a bit and do some more research on what barrel, scope, and stock I want. New trigger too. Damn and I thought my AR15 was my Lego. I think I found a new replacement

PS! A big +1 to Kidd Innovative Design for not charging me an arm and a leg for shipping on such tiny parts. Most sites would charge at least $10 shipping for a measly spring. Kidd only charged me $3 shipping! Kudos to you!

Purchase a volquartsen target hammer for around $40. Best money spent on my 10/22 IMHO. Drops trigger pull from #8 to about #2.5 and smoother too.

Thats what I was originally planning on doing but after some extensive research I've decided to go with Brimstone for one of their trigger jobs. Still debating if I just want their basic Tier 3 job or is it really worth it to go Tier 2. Only difference is an upgraded Rimfire Technologies trigger? Can anobody chime in which trigger job is better for my needs? FWIW, my 10/22 is primarily for weekend plinking with bulk .22 and the occasional informal target practice.

If your impressed with KIDD, check out their single stage drop in triggers. It's a wonderful product with plenty of adjustment with the spring kit.
