Is it one of those stealth/predator cloaked rifles?

Yep, but I am more interested in how she's gonna shoot. Might need some Lapua Midas+ or Eley Tenex to get the most out of her. Nice looking upgrade.

That stock is coming out nice Chet. Different, but nice.

Going to be competing in both rifle classes next month.

Dialed in the last little bit at 60 paces, about 55 yards for me. Right group was first, left was .2 mil correction, and the last 5 shots are all in the bull. Shot from my back porch leaning on the rail.

Well since the paint was messed up from putting it on my gun case before the paint fully dried I re-sanded it, re-painted it, fine sanded it, buffed and polished the stock and here are the pictures

I didn't check the whole thing but the upper right bull on the 25 yd rifle irons looks like it should be at least a 19 or 20, depends how the two on the left plug.

In general though, darn good groups for post and notch sights, especially on the 50 yard.

I have a number of AR7 variants and they are more accurate than most people realize. My Henry AR7 has a real stiff trigger. Your groups are impressive for a stock Henry.

Tried something new today. I haven't shot my Henry Frontier much since buying it except for occasional plinking. So today I used it to shoot the 25yd iron sight target from the bench using Eley Sport ammo (actually made by Aguila) just to see how I might do with a non-target rifle and $3 a box ammo. Learned a lot about the rifle and tang sight but mostly that the rifle wants to be held very firmly. Most of the not-so-good shots were a result of me not holding the rifle properly. I was surprised at how well this rifle shot. Gonna spend a lot more range time with it to improve my shooting and get used to the trigger pull which is somewhat heavier than my other rifles. I especially like that it doesn't require target grade ammo to shoot well. Most fun I have had in a while at the range.

Shot 4 targets but only posting the best one.

Scores were: 181, 188, 192 and 194.

First the rifle.

25yd Iron Sight Target, Score -194

Shot for one hour. I think I can improve on this with some trigger time and more practice on the holding of the rifle. First time out with this rifle trying to shoot for precision instead of clay pidgeons and soda cans.

Nice shooting, and what a beautiful gun! (I admit, I'm a sucker for lever guns.)

Tried the scoped 50-yard hostage target and managed a score of -2 the first time! I shot 4 of the 8 friendlies with a Sako Quad. Needless to say, I only tried that one once. We won't count that one. . .

Here's my fiirst attempt (8/6/13) at the 25-yard irons so my scoring might be a bit off. I picked up one of those scoring gauges from Hughes Precision for $6 shipped:

http://www.hughesprecision.com/HPP02...R_targets.html

Anschutz w/ aperture sights
SK Magazine
Wooden rest from the club

I really need to work on consistency. I scored it a 234 with the group bonuses:

Went back a few days later for a lower score of 232:

50-yard scoped. I scored it a 175 w/ the Hughes gauge. Hopefully I can do better with this setup in the future.

Alright! Just finished my first time shooting the match targets. Had a lot of fun and looking forward to getting better as I go (hopefully!). I shot at United Sportsmen in Concord.

Using my 10/22 and iron sights (TechSights) I scored:

25yds: 142 (Aguila SuperExtra 40gr)
50yds: 51 (SK Standard Plus 40gr)

Take a look at my scoring to make sure I did it right. Some of the shots are close to to the lines, but I wasn't 100% sure how to score them. I have one grouping at 25yds that had 2 shots touching, so I added 2 points (right?)

Thanks everyone!

I tried shooting the 100yd target but couldn't even hit the paper . I guess I need a bit more practice at that.

Cujo - good shooting. Where in the Central Valley are you? And where do you shoot at?

Jello - good job! I'm using the same setup.

Managed to get out at lunch today for the 25 yd rifle distance. Going to try again next week with the pistol, but its been months since I've shot pistol so I'm not expecting to do well. 178 today with the 10/22 with tech sights and bulk Winchester ammo.

How is the Lemoore range? I've never been there. I normally shoot at The Firing Line in Clovis, but I'm just about ready to join at the Auberry range. Sounds like if you and your friends were interested we could get a rotation set up at the various ranges in the area - I know most allow one guest per member. In any event, if you ever want to shoot over here on the east side of town let me know.

Ok, I know this won't count since I already submitted my 25 yd target for the month, but I had to share because this is the best I've shot with this gun ever. I took my truck in to get smogged this morning and was told it was going to be a 2 hr wait, so I decided to walk up to the range to kill time while waiting. I didn't have any of the pistol targets printed out, so I had to practice on the rifle targets. Below is the result - 194, using a 10/22 with tech sights and bulk Winchester ammo. I know a 200 is reachable now.

I even was playing around a bit, I had taken the hostage target and enlarged it just a little, in an attempt to make it comparable to shooting scoped at 50 when using irons at 25. I didn't achieve that, couldn't even see the terrorist using the tech sights, had to go by where I "remembered" him to be, but this is the result of that. Unfortunately I did graze the hostage twice, but they would be flesh wounds only. .

In any event, I was quite pleased with the way I was shooting today, and had to share. . Thanks for indulging me.

I scored this 50-yard scoped target a 180. The guy shooting next to me at a target at 25-yards managed to hit it 6 times (the shots on the right edge).

Late entry, posted today but shot Friday 8/30. 8 targets shot, 4 brands of ammo. Hope no one gets butt hurt because I broke out the expensive ammo....it didn't seem to help.
I say if you got a thousand dollar rig, bring it.
Best score goes to Federal ultra match UM22 for a score of 194.
50 yard scoped, shot with a Savage MKII BV with a Nikon 6-18x40 scope.
Bipod, rear bag, off a bench. scoring 10,10,9,8,7 per OP

Looks like you mis-scored your target. The center dot is a 10 and the surrounding ring is also a 10, then 9, then 8, etc... Your score looks more like a 194. Nice shootin'.

Default September isn't too late is it?

Hey guys, it's been probably a year since I was in here and participating, but I sold one of my favorite 22s and now I am just getting back into it. Last week I scored one of the last of the "Rusty Kimbers" so I took it to the range along with a few others. Luckily I remembered to look on here for some targets before I left. Here is what I did the first time shooting this Kimber. I think I might have screwed up on the scoring, as I did not know to add in 2 points for shots touching??

Here's a pic of the three that came with me- the Kimber, the Ruger 10-22 and the Ruger MkIII Target with my new Ultradot 6 from Matchdot:

And here's the Kimber:

That's some really good shooting. The summer match has already been scored out and closed, but the monthly matches are still going. Again, pretty nice shooting. You can find the September match here.

Welcome back, looking forward to seeing you in the match!
