What Mauser?
Have not seen this ring mark before. I am thinking Chinese or maybe homebrew Persian? Just curious, not planning to bid. Some other interesting C&R's in this auction too.

it's not a "scrubbed" M48. It never had markings. There will also be no left side receiver markings. It's a M48BO.. The "BO" means Bez Oznake" or "unmarked". The Yugos made these rifles for exported to countries who wanted unmarked rifles.
Some like Iraq put their "Jeem" mark on them. others left them unmarked. The rifle the OP posted most likely has a Federal Ordinance import mark on the barrel near the muzzle. It's not a "bring back". However some unscrupulous people try and pass these off as such. I have personally seen it twice. Both times the seller said the rifles were "bring backs" from Iraq.. When I pointed out the Fed Ord importer marks they just became flummoxed. It was fun to watch them sputter and back track. Most of the Iraqi Jeem marked M48BO rifles will nave serial numbers beginning with "V" or "W". Fed Ord got these rifles and many thousands of others from Israel back in the late 1980's Sales fliers from then listing the Iraqi Mausers. Here is a M48 rifle with a royal Iraqi crest. A Iraqi Jeem marked M48BO Two other Jeem marked M48's with the Jeem on the side of the receiver. The first is a M48 A It has the Yugo crest. The second is a BO . The Iraqi's also received other Mauser rifles and marked them with their "Jeem" property mark including Ex German WWII rifles and post was Czech rifles.

Here is a pic of a Yugo M48 BO which was destined for Egypt. Unissued no receiver markings.
The Syrians also used Yugo M48BO rifles. They however marked the receivers of their rifles with the Syrian Crest.
