If food vendors aren't going to be there, what's going to be done for the extra $10 that people chipped in for the range time + food? Perhaps just order some catered Subway or something with the extra money?

With that being said, if a CalGuns preferred Vendor has something they want to show off, and is available this Saturday Night... shoot me a PM.

Regarding Advertising, I posted it in 2 forums, which I usually do, but that day is an Appleseed event day, and many of the normal volunteers who normally show up, are not available. Then, we also did the Super Secret Zombie shoot just last weekend, so people are still shoot content from that. I believe the way the Chapters are now set up, makes it a little more difficult to find events, when we have 3-4 active events going per month.
I'm going with a small mixture of things. As always, I am open to suggestions.

No Tshirt's this year.
I'm sure I will have a blast as usual!

If you paid for food, you will get delicious food. If there is one thing I don't ever ever mess around with... it's safety.. but a close second is food! Still working out the tweaks.

Regarding the rain...
Forecast says light rain. I'm not particularly worried. Just take it easy on the way in.
If you have never been shooting in the rain... it's pretty cool.

Good point. Anybody knows? Is it ok to leave some steel case ammo in my vehicle just in case or is it total ban at Burro rain or shine?

All,
I was just informed that the Exotics Range is going to be a No Go.

Too many things are up against us on this one, and I have received concerned PMs about the rain now forecasted.

I am unfortunately going to Cancel this event.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Your money will be refunded tomorrow morning, however does take a few days for processing.

Again, my sincere apologies, we will shoot for next year.p

I have been talking to Andrew Mendez and too many people backed out on him about first going then decided not to. Then he also did not get a good response with volunteers either.

Too many pansies are scared of a little rain. Last year this was a very successful event with lots of people there. This year for some reason there was just not enough people enthusiastic about a night shoot.

Andrew Mendez did his best to put on a great event but sometimes things are just out of your control.

Andrew's a good guy. I'm sure if he cancelled it there was little choice. Btw, I never say a thread for volunteers, maybe I missed it in the OP. Myself and 2 other friends would have been happy to help out to volunteer on the range.

Well at least there's still appleseed (at burrow) and IDPA (prado) this weekend.

Shucks! Golly Gee Whiz Ratso! Gonna have to do an informal campout near Barstow to exercise the NVG and thermal toys.

Prolly a good call on the part of the OP. Doesnt the road pass through a fresh burn area? Ist few seasons of rain = mudslide danger and road closure?

Yep, Andrew's a good guy, he'll make it right. We'll get this sorted.

Maybe a "Valentine's Day Massacre" is in the works??

I do still have spots open for Appleseed this weekend, btw. Andrew, you're welcome as always.

I have to say, I am quite disappointed the shoot got canceled. Was really looking forward to it all month, and a little rain seemed to have turned a lot of people off! I for one would have liked to experience both shooting at night and during rain.

According to weather.com, 20% chance of rain on Saturday.... BAH!!! At least my fishing trip is still on for that night.

Thanks for the support guys. I do feel bad about cancelling the event, this event is only second in my heart, to the SuperSecret Zombie Shoot.

A Valentines Day Massacre does sound pretty interesting.

Rocketman, I will be at Burro on a private range shooting, I will swing by and say Hi.

Andrew: Thanks for all your work to organize and try to make the event work. Not your fault circumstances and inclement weather are what they are.

While I have been a shooter all my life, I have never been apart of an organized event such as this. Please put me on the list for further event notifications.

Sorry this one canceled, but I would like in on the next event.

Thanks

For what it's worth I was at Burro yesterday till 2pm, it was cold & getting colder with some drizzle. Not the best conditions for a fun shooting night.

Looking forward to the next event.
