Default Carrying at Work

With all the discussions I've been reading about carrying at work......I looked up what I could find for where I work.....(work for the State....)

My work refers to California Penal Code Sections 171b: to describe what is prohibited to have in the work place....

Then further down in.....where it states that Subdivision (a) shall not apply to....

(3) A person holding a valid license to carry the firearm pursuant to Article 3 (commencing with Section 12050) of Chapter 1 of Title 2 of Part 4.

Well, the way I read it.....I could carry because of (3) above. Just trying to make sense of the referrences: pursuant to Article 3 (commencing with Section 12050) [I got Section 12050] of Chapter 1 of Title 2 of Part 4.

Is there more to read here or is it just referrencing the same text?

Thanks for your responses.....

First, get a new law book. The "12000" series of Penal Code was re codified two years ago. http://law.onecle.com/california/penal/171b.html

Then go here and read Post 16.

Thanks for the referrences....

I don't plan to carry at work myself....I don't think I'll even entertain the thought of locking it up in my vehicle as I park on-site....thou it may not be owned or leased by state (pay a parking co monthly)! Not worth losing my retirement this close to the end!!!
