Hey guys, nice seeing, meeting everybody yesterday. Spent a couple of hours cleaning the guns last night and fell asleep on the couch I'm gettin' old.
Thanks the help with the SVT and the link for the tool, Trap. I think I might have had the gas plug in the FAL in upside down, we'll see.
Some really nice guns there yesterday for those that missed it. That .357 was sweet. Not a milsurp, but something I'd definitely pickup if the price was right. Trap's PSL was a beauty too. Too many to mention really.
I noticed when I got home the bed of my truck was full a 9mm cases. Spetsnaz must have gone through hundreds of rounds with his Glock.
Looking forward to the next one.

Are we any closer to setting a date for the next one? Paulie or Skitters, do we know when you'll be home on leave yet?

I don't think anyone got a pic of that. I'm still kicking myself for not bringing a camera.

The guy who brought it was unaffiliated with the forum, but the gun was extremely cool.

Couldn't find my camera, got home and unpacked the shooting bags, and there it was with a fully charged battery.

Are there seriously tweekers and potheads just roaming around out there? And some of them are just taking people's brass?

I want to go to the next shoot but you guys are starting to make me reconsider.....

Not roaming, these people came to the range to shoot their firearms, and right before they left, they lit up an "herbal cigarette", shall we say. Still...

This is the first time I've ever seen this type of shenanigans there, (mind you, I've only been twice) but it WOULD be nice to go to another range one of these days. But there really aren't many other ranges centrally located for all of us that allow us to do the fun stuff, aka tannerite, shooting captain America action figures, steel plates with AP rounds, etc. Once we find a new range, I'm game to go to it.

There are people that scrounge brass for the scrap value. They show up late in the day, and scrounge the areas where no one is shooting at. So far they've been real cooperative when I point out what brass is mine, and I tell them where to look for Berdan primed brass that we shot up.
I was the last of the CalGuns group to leave after the first shoot there. As we were packing up, we had two people, from two different groups, that were shooting down on the other end, walk over and express their thanks for our group, asserting ourselves as self appointed range safety. They both asked, when we planned to be there again.

Soooo, any plans for another shoot in the nearish future? I've worked things out with my leadership and it looks like I'll be home from the 24th of December to the 19th of January! Any chance we could set something up in that timespan?

Useable weekends would be the 29th/30th of December, the 5th/6th of January and the 12th and 13th of January. I've got tons of fun stuff to bring home too, a pair of Martini-Henrys with 10-X Ammo, a Trapdoor Springfield, a Persian Mauser, an Ishapore 2A1 and, possibly... one of my M16 Clones.
