A couple years ago I bought a reloading press. I can now make 4,000+ rounds of 9mm for about $300. Since then I've not purchased any ammo from any retailer. Learn to reload!

How long does it take you to tumble/polish/prep/reload 100 rounds? And the cost of the reloading press and scales, main tools to reload?

I can do 100 rounds in about 15 min if I rush it. But I'd rather take my time, turn on a podcast, audio book or the tv. I throw my brass in a tumbler after every match or range session so I've got buckets of clean brass ready for reloading. Yeah its not as convenient as just buying yur ammo, but with the way things are going here in Cali, if you shoot a lot, reloading is your best bet.

Yes, they'll continue to sell 22LR...for now.
Minimags for $8 including tax is still pretty good though.

Ok, that's reassuring. How close did you get to the rodent and what gun did you use?

I've used a CCI Quiet from a Marlin 39A once with success.

Beach and Talbert, for those in OC, still has plenty of Win NATO, Federal, WWB in 9mm. Looked like plenty of .40, .380, .45. Was told they will keep selling until their supply runs out, pehaps a few more days.

Walmart will keep selling hunting ammo ie. 30-30, 30-06, 308 Win, Shotgun ammo, and 22LR after getting rid of all other ammo.

Grab deals on handgun ammo, and 556, 7.62, etc.

Irvine-Von Karman on Sat/Sun/Mon is good imo, as the ammo guy doesn't require you to have any other ID if you have the old DL.
(Just picked up another 200 of 45)

But many southerners hunt deer and boar with an SKS...

Will they still sell 00 buck and slugs?

Picked up 500 rounds Federal 9mm 115 gr at the Sonora Walmart for 15 cents/round. Also picked up 300 rounds CCI Mini mag .22LR 7 cents/round, and CCI .22 WMR 21 cents/round (10.54 for 50 rounds).

It's funny that the .22 WMR is more expensive than 9mm! Took me a little by surprise. I assume the higher price has to do with demand.

Lowest pricing is in the 200 rnd and above packaging.

Default Scored today

Got 2,000 rounds of 9mm Federal for $300 in Sacramento, also some .380 and .223. Clerk told me shipments will be coming in from warehouse for a couple more weeks and once that's gone sales will cease.

Finally I see some benefit to living in California. Since there are so many fewer shooters in CA, ammo that goes on sale is actually available sometimes. I haven't been able to find any of the discounted 9mm at my local Wally's.

Their caliber choices to discontinue make no sense. But what else is new.

Picked up Federal 9mm, 115 gr FMJ, $7.00/50 rounds, $15.00/100 rounds. Bought 750 rounds and discovered that they were aluminum case when I was heading to the parking lot. Dang! Hoping to add some brass to the reloading inventory.

Oh well, I won't have to crawl around and scrounge casings at the range, just sweep them up and discard.
