Woohoo... after only 3 months of waiting from S&W direct (ordered Jan 15) my extra M&P 22 Mags arrived! Just in time for my first Action Pistol shoot at local sportsman's club this weekend!

If you need mags, you guys might want to call Island View Enterprise out in Ventura and see if they have any. They posted in one of their commercial threads that they had the M&P22 in stock and mags too. I was able to buy three mags from them late last month for $33 each.

Awesome. I just noticed that S&W charged my CC for the magazines I ordered a few weeks ago. Looks like they are catching up with demand.

I'm lucky I got my extra mags a few months back when they were plentiful.

Speaking of mags. You guys ever notice how the the mag is simply blocked to 10 rounds using a removable metal shim around the spring? Don't take it out and reassemble. That'll be illegal in case and a few other states.

I'm in the same boat. Saw the email shortly after it was sent out, logged in... Sold out. These magazines are elusive.

I got a question on the non-ca version with the threaded barrel. Due to the threaded barrel, are LEOs exempt from purchasing? Or is the threaded barrel a no-go regardless?

Thanks

damn. So is the 122000 barrel threaded also? From what I see, it seems like it. So the only version allowed is the 122002?

Dollar - Yes 122002 is threaded with a perminantly installed thread protector to make it CA DOJ compliant. The 122000 has a removable thread protector with flats on both sides and a wrench to remove it. This is the same for the Walther P22 (same people who manufactured the M&P22).

C&R - The barrel cap on the CA model is simply epoxied on, not pinned. I'm not a lawyer but some legal advice would be to not mention that you are able to expose the threads on your barrel sleeve. Having a pistol with a threaded barrel in CA would land you in a heap of trouble with the CA DOJ. They would classify your M&P22 an assault weapon as ridiculous as that sounds.

So given that the 122000 has a thread protector, can a ffl still take it in and loctite or anything, and still sell it in ca and notify doj that the cap is permanently attached? Pretty hard trying to find a 12002 right now.

In theory yes. Would they go through the trouble? Probably not. Could you find a 07FFL that would do it? Maybe

Back when the M&P22 just got roster'ed a couple of 122000 accidentally got shipped to CA gun shops and a few were sold. (I was actually in the process of DROS on one) Once they figured out the mistake they had to get all the guns back. I asked them if they can simply have S&W or a gunsmith permanently attach the thread protector but they said they couldn't do it. Luckily the 122002 started shipping to all the gun shops a few weeks later and they were easy to get again. The thing with the M&P22 is they're made by Walther in Germany and they ship large batches to the States every couple of months. Every shop will have them for a month or so and then they all disappear for three months.

But I've actually seen quite a few M&P22CA at local gun shops in my area (Norcal/Bay Area) within the last month. Which part of the state are you in?

Finally my credit card got billed for the Magazines. I order on 1/16/13 so I guess they were really going like hot cakes then cause its more then two weeks since "AmmoCanMagnets" got his and he ordered a day before I did. To bad I'm off on vacation to Florida today. Won't get to play with them. On the bright side I get to play with my Latino Redneck Family's Guns in Florida. YAY!

If anyone is still looking for mags, J&R in livermore has about 6 more left. I picked up a few.

When this whole panic hit, these mags were selling ~$100 each. Good to see that supply is catching up with the demand and prices are almost back to normal.

Thought I would bring this back--good read on the development.

Picked up my M&P yesterday. Grabed it on the last day before falling off the roster. Paid $359 from Turners. From what I have been reading, it's only been on it for 2 years. What a gaggle at the start when they first hit the market here. Trying to find magazines for it now, around $26-$30 seem to be the norm.

Any sight upgrades I can use?

Believe it's because of CA's new microstamping requirement, and a lot of these manufacturer's just don't want anything to do with it, or lose business in CA because of it, so they don't bother.

In 2014, Ruger and S&W decided to not renew their semi automatic pistols and chose to let them expire and drop off the roster. The microstamping law that went into effect in 2013 prevents new semi automatics (and models that drop off) from being placed on the roster unless they include microstamping technology. Since no manufacturer produces any semi automatics with microstamping, no new models can be added to the roster. New models were not forced off the roster; they never made it on to the roster. Glock still sell lots of Gen 3s and will likely renew. If Glock chooses not to renew I am sure they will announce that well in advance.

Just freed one from jail yesterday, planning on shooting it this weekend. Anyone ever tried these sights?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/161252372466...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I had a $25.00 coupon for eBay so they only cost me 23, just got them today. They look nice, just wondering if anyone has tried them?

Can't find the post, but recently someone posted about the M&P recall on some AR15-22's.

Here's a tip of the hat to that person- my brother bought one on Monday and had no idea. Thanks!

This thread is about pistols. Not rifles. Also it is 4 years since the last post. Your waking the dead.
