Default My 1k yard shot with an AK!!!! PICS ADDED GRAPHIC!!!!

Lmao got you to look !!!!
Nah heres the story, alot of people bash ak's for inadequate accuracy and less than moa, well heres what happened today my sniper shot just kidding.
Me n my girl and my cousin went to livermore shooting range this afternoon, I originally wasnt gonna go due to my shoulder being messed up, anyways I decide to go and take my saiga 223 for myself to zero a scope on it, so I zero the scope and left it 3in high at 100 yards with wpa steel hp, we come home and I see a crane out in the field and I point it out to my girl she then proceeds to point out a coyote I couldnt see so I pop the trunk and grab my rifle and start scanning and sure enough theres a coyote running around the goat pens, I slap a mag in my saiga loaded with high tech wpa steel hp and follow him across the field hoping hed slow down and he finally does drop to a trot, and bang his lites are out, we brought him in I took pics that i'll upload tomorrow, we then got my yard tape measure that is 100 yards long and measured 279yards! I was standing with no bench nor support and took him rite in the ribs and out the throat. Now I know some of you have done longer shots but i'm proud due to the fact
1 it was with an ak
2 the thing was not sitting still
3 I was using steel
4 I was standing
5 its a small animal at a longer range
So either hate on me or congatulate me, but I am proud of this shot and saving the lives of those poor little goats lmfao
Pics coming tomorrow,

Dangerous shot on the fly like this without adequate scanning of the territory and your target background, especially with a moving target in an environment frequented quite possibly by humans!!!!

In addition;

Was the coyote attacking the herd or running away from it?

I highly doubt that a coyote can take down a goat.....

let alone a NorCal goat!!!

One shot is OK but, consistancy is what it's all about. If you can duplicate that shot 9 out of 10 times, it'll prove your skill and how good your equipment is. One shot only proves luck.

Good job protecting the goats. Geez the last animal that messed with my brothers goats was a bear, havent seen any coyotes. Maybe the dogs scare them.

If you would have bought the Red_jacket AK ( AKA The Game Changer sniper AK) you could have made the 1k shot.

I dont think it was luck, I shoot alot and regularly shoot standing at a couple hundred yards with my ak's, but if it was luck I'll take it.

Great shot man! Any shot on a moving animal gets progressively harder with distance. At almost 300 yards you must of had to lead that yote a fair amount. Awesome!

Default good job protecting goats

I have a few goats myself. That is why I named my AR Coquena, the god and protector of goats. I usually end up shooting at predators in the springtime.

IM****INGPOSSIBLE! You can only do that shot with an AR! An AK is only accurate up until 30 yards!

I didnt lead by too far, I kept the crosshair a tad infront of his head, and a little high, btw my saiga has a 20in barrel.

.... yeah, I'd say a .223 Saiga with a 20 inch barrel is bit more accurate than my cross bow .....

........

Could you have taken this shot with a 7.62x39 AK with a 16 inch barrel? Using iron sights?

Clearly this story is a falsehood. The only rifle that could possibly complete such an amazing feat is the magical unicorn of firearms, the AR-15. Specifically one with a a heavy barrel with at least a 1:4350 twist, an ultracool muzzle brake shaped like a tigers mouth, and an obscene amount of Magpul accessories.

In seriousness though, Nice shot. I've had consistent success at and beyond 250 yards with my saiga 7.62x39 with irons, just utilizing the elevation adjustment.

That's a good shot with any rifle good job

NorCalK9 you should join an AK forum so you guys can talk about how much you love the AK and how all the AR shooters are a bunch of Nancy's. You guys can debate about what AK Seal Team 6 used to take out all the M4 packin terrorists .

You can shoot guns on private property in Oakley?
Serious question, if you can shoot on your own property, why even go to the range in Livermore?

I can shoot out here cause of county laws but I still have neighbors about 1200 yards to the rite and theyre afraid of guns, so I shoot the pistols out here and save the rifles for killing lol.
