Default CGSSA 14 Event – Monthly Shoot LAX Range – Wed, January 8th – LA/South Bay/WLA

CGSSA 14 Event – Monthly Shoot LAX Range – Wed, January 8th – LA/South Bay/WLA

Sorry for the late notice! Work and being sick has had me on a down cycle for a while!

Hello Everyone! It's time to warm things up with our monthly W. LA / South Bay LAX Range Shoot!

It's that time again, time for the monthly W. LA shoot @ LAX Range!
Raffle tickets, check!
Date/Time confirmed, check!
I'll have the Beowulf .50 AR as well as the usual AR Pistol Menagerie!
I'll see you guys on the range!
If you have any requests as far as something you want to try out for yourself or a friend, feel free to post in this thread!

This shoot is followed immediately by a migration to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles for a late dinner, and the usual SGV Gun Clean-B-Que on 11 Jan 2014. PM for details!

- HappyCamper781/Jeremy

****

Join us at LAX Firing Range (not the airport) in Inglewood (927 West Manchester Blvd, Inglewood) on 1/8/2014 @ 7:00 PM. We're excited to team up with LAX, and they in turn have extended a discount of 10% off any in store factory ammunition not already discounted to all Calgunners.

Parking is limited, but don't fret parking is allowed at the car wash next door after hours, and there are always the lovely "safe" streets of Inglewood.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - High Powered Rifles up to a .30-06 are permitted with the use of range ammunition..
Shotguns - Shotguns are also permitted, again, only with the use of range ammunition.
Cost - $10.00, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on factory ammo and rentals.
** LAX members are free to attend.
*** If you've never been to LAX you'll need to purchase a shooting card for $2. This is a one time fee for new (to the range shooters).

REMINDER: - When you're there, your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect. Remember to unpack your firearms in the booth if at all possible! (Additional note, we've gotten a few internal Calguns comments regarding range etiquette, remember, this is a firing range, muzzle sweeping, and inadvertent violations of range rules are very very no bueno).

They'll be reserving several lanes for us on their main range, but we will have to share the range with other walk on shooters. If there are others present, I urge you to engage them in conversations about Calguns, and why you choose to attend these types of events. They have a huge "pro shop" with tons of items available for purchase as well as a couch and multiple TVs.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Wednesday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

P.S. If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact myself or RoundEye for details.

Shoot Roster:
1) Happycamper781
2) pigpen66m
3) Exodus343?
4) pmrsino?
5) neubine?
6) abuckner?
7) 200apples?

Ive never shot a 50 would like to do so if I wind up going. So far 80 percent certain I will. Would like to try a full auto or bumpfire stock weapon if one of the people attending has one.

Sorry those are illegal. Plus no rapid firing @ the range.
Go to the burro shoot then we can bumpfire all day (no bumpfire stock)

Jeremy, could you bring the Glock with you?
I've been eyeing that particular one and have never fired a Glock in .45
Been drinking the .45 kool-aid a lot lately so considering adding another one to the collection.

I just fixed the Mak (firing pin), my AR-15 Carbine build and my 7.62x39 AR Pistol (loose gas blocks) and had a function check night at LA Gun Club. All 3 fire without issue, and I'm picking up some 9x18mm for the Mak this weekend so barring some cleaning, they will all be there.

I will also pack my Glock 21SF.

The .50 Beo (Carbine .50 length) seems to be the "AR-In-Residence" at the LAX shoots, I will eventually need more ammos for it.

See you all Wednesday!

I thought some fully automatics were able to be legally obtained before 1986 but were just really expensive and required alot of paperwork. Or was that in other states? And bumpfire ships to california so I thought it was fine to own those too.

Full auto is not banned. Just very hard to get for civilians in CA.
Bumpfire stocks on the other hand... deemed illegal.

Nobody I know of on Calguns has any legal full auto class 3 weaponry. In addition to federal requirements for class 3, California pretty much banned all personal civilian ownership of any class 3 item back during the last round of "assault weapon bans". Though any legal owners at that time could register and grandfather them in, they are VERY rare and their #'s are only decreasing since then, since ANY transfer except to a assault weapon dealer or a very few categories of non personal owner are allowed, and all other transfers are disallowed for weapons in this category.

You're not going to see any class 3 firearms or accessories in California except at special events or movie shoots, or unless a military / Law Enforcement type or dealer with special permits takes them to the range to show off.

No one would touch, use, ride with, be near any stock of that kind. Illegal to possess even if you don't own a firearm.

Penal Code 16930. As used in this part, a "multiburst trigger activator" means either of the following: (a) A device designed or redesigned to be attached to a semiautomatic firearm, which allows the firearm to discharge two or more shots in a burst by activating the device. (b) A manual or power-driven trigger activating device constructed and designed so that when attached to a semiautomatic firearm it increases the rate of fire of that firearm.

Penal Code 32900. Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, lends, or possesses any multiburst trigger activator is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or in the state prison. 32990. Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any multiburst trigger activator is a nuisance and is subject to Section 18010.

Sent from my cell phone, because I'm a Calguns addict

:/ sucks about the class 3 weaponry. Thought there would probably be some LEO on here who would help me cross that off my bucket list. Oh well should still be very fun. I will definetly ne there.

No, don't drink the BLOCKaid!!!

I think Jeremy also has a XD .45 for you to test, before you make your final decision. Maybe he'll bring that too.

I'll bring the twins (SA XDM 3.8 Compact .45 ACP pistols w/PRP Triggers), and even bring the SA 1911 Trophy Match (if necessary) to help with your addiction to BLOCKaid. LOL
