Doubtful, considering the CDFW closing areas.

You betcha. Stay safe yourself.

I’m not sure though what is more hazardous to your health... Bat Soup Fever or shooting at Spenceville on a weekend?

Spenceville was open on the 22nd when I went out there.
I think it's just going to be whether or not there's someone to tell you to leave.

Has this been confirmed? I might be reading this too literally but the notice at the top of the link refers to "high public use areas including visitor centers and license counters" being closed. If you can still go for a hike, maybe you can also set up some targets and shoot as long as you are keeping distance from others?

CDFW is temporarily closing its high public use areas, including visitor centers and license counters, to help slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Before heading to a CDFW facility, contact the regional headquarters office to determine if that facility is open.

Did you shoot at the range? Or just out there to hike or ride? I think the area closes for a stretch for spring turkey season, which might start this weekend IIRC.

You can always call and ask. Maybe save yourself a drive up there.

Iíd tend to agree, an outdoor shooting area shouldnít be any different than taking a hike. Easy to maintain distance between shooters and groups, although people still seem to have a hard time doing so.

Yes, went out and resighted a rifle, and spent a little time with the handgun too.

IIRC the range itself doesn't close, but hunting definitely does, and yeah, I think that just happened or is coming up.

I just got a couple rifles that were too cheap to pass up, so I'll pop out there to see if I cant test them out, and report back with whether or not it's open.

Shooting at Spenceville is sketchy regardless of the current situation.

I no longer go there alone and without my trauma bag.
