I am considering getting a laminate rifle that comes with a hinged plate. I have called around and have been told that I would need someone who can do inlet work as it is likely to (currently) be too narrow to accommodate a bottom detachable magazine.
Do any of you know someone (gunsmith?) in southern California area who can do that type of work? I would also want to the bed the barreled action, too. Thank you in advance. |

It is for a Remington 700 footprint (ARC custom action), but with a wood laminate stock. The one I like says it is a BDL and is for a hinged floor plate, but I want to convert it to a detachable magazine to fit AICS mags. I called a company & was told that it would need to be widened (inletted) in order for it to fit. Is that something you do (with a laminate stock)?
I am waiting to purchase it until after I find someone who can do the work. Thanks. |

I do the M5 inlet which is what most AICS compatible bottom metal will fit into. Before you buy bottom metal, make sure it's for the M5 inlet.

That's excellent news. I had you do some work for me before and was very pleased with it. Will try to buy both soon. This is especially good as your business is fairly close. Based upon the work he did for me and on many other's comments, I would highly recommend AR15Barrels/Randall. Thank you. Oh, one more thing: once purchased hopefully the DBM part & stock delivered in a week or so (though still need trigger & barrel), what kind of wait time do you have (with us getting closer to the holidays)? Thinking this time of year you might be more busy than usual. Last edited by BroncoMustang; 11-16-2019 at 4:45 PM.. |

Since I need the action here with the stock and bottom metal to confirm fit/function, this work can only be done on a scheduled appointment.
