Okay, I got sucked into this thread. This is not an artsy shot by any means but here's my usual kit.
  • Springfield Armory Loaded Champion LW with Radical Concepts grips and Wilson Combat 47DCB magazine
  • Milt Sparks Summer Special II IWB holster
  • Wilson Combat 47D magazine in Blackhawk Tactical leather holster
  • Benchmade AFCK (circa 1994 - "Old Faithful")
  • Fenix PD20 (Killer little light! Highly recommended!)

I've got a couple of other guns I rotate through but this is my favorite.

Thanks! Love the Maxpedition stuff. The Gearslingers are great. It was tough choosing a color and I didn't want to go with the usual black.

I don't have a CCW yet (Stupid Santa Clara County) but sometimes I carry at my shop. My Company's shop isn't in the best area in San Jose and recently we have been seeing an increase in unsavory characters hanging around in the neighborhood. To top it off we just had a hydroponic garden supply company move in next door but we all know what they really are doing.

Springfield X9-9 service with Winchester PDX 147gr JHP's
Blackhawk Serpa paddle holster.
Keys, lighter, and wallet
Oakley Gascan sunglasses
HTC EVO 4G
not pictured some kind of San Jose Sharks hat.

I just impulse bought a Crossbreed SuperTuck, I don't even have a CCW D:

DAMN THIS HOBBY! Hopefully CCW will become easier to get, then I'll have justified my purchase in the future I suppose I get to carry around my house when dealing with Craigslist customers. That's really the only purpose for it that I can see at this point.

Here's mine.

Don't mean to troll, but I was really surprised how small of knives you guys carry. I've been carrying my Recon 1 for 4 years, and I've got a chain of 4" knives going back another 4 before that. I haven't carried smaller than a 3" since I was about 13. Hell, I carry *at least* my 4". If it's a bad enough neighborhood (or I'm riding the Metro :P), I carry one of these:

Tonight 3 of us went out to dinner. My GF and I, and another female friend of ours... our friend came up with this game, "compare what we are carrying". So out came most items, except the Glock 26 I CCW. this pic is the result for the most part, besides our phones, keys, and wallets....

Those FMJ may be Federal EFMJ rounds. I used to carry EFMJ in a 3" 1911 due to feeding reliability.

Otherwise, everything else is suspect.

Negative. Federals EFMJ do not have a round tip - they are slightly square ...and no matter what it is - a single round in a spare mag is suboptimal at best.

There are 17 rounds in that mag. 16 of them are Cor-Bon and 1 is an FMJ...

Are the other 16 rounds hiding under the follower?

Plus what's the point of one FMJ followed by 16 hollowpoints? I would think you would want that first shot to really count.

Would make more sense to carry one mag of JHP and one of FMJ. Then he can swap one ammo type to another. However, one FMJ at the top seems pointless.

Huh, I wasn't aware that Corbon made rounds that look like black plastic followers.

Interesting.

No, I an suggesting that carrying a FMJs for self defense is not a "smart" idea. How's that, easier to understand?
