Default Holosunning!

I try to place an optic for each firearm, red dots for shorties and scopes for full length rifles. As it can be an expensive proposition, am always on the lookout for good but reasonably priced optics. Haven't taken them out for a spin but these two newer shorties are Holosunning for now.

Cool looking guns. You must not be in CA though. The vector might be at the top of my list for purchasing. How do you like it.

Yep. I am on the Holosun wagon as well. Replaced all my cheapo Bushnell TRS-25's and old PA ones with them. Less tint and much more precise dot.

Am in VA.The Vector is really cool design wise and the concept works by all accounts (little to no muzzle rise). This is in 45 cal and am waiting for a suppressor to really break it in.

x2. Like the Holosuns very much. Haven't carried them into hell and back, but perfectly good for range toys.

I like my Holosun optics as well.

To me they are the perfect balance in price and performance. Heck, Holosun have better battery lives than Eotech which makes them great for the range.

Have also had very good luck with my holosuns. They seem to be rugged and reliable! Battery life is also a big plus.

Just a suggestion, but you may like the one on the vector better if you use the low mount.

I've had a PA MD-ADS (holosun) since they released (2014?) and still on the same battery, jager turned off, shot many times on many different rifles.
Waiting for their 70,000 hour version to release.

For PCC I use Crimson trace laser/light vgrips. Zero at 50 yards. Minor visual adjustment high or low between 0-100

I just purchased a HS510C (had to have the circle/dot reticle cause of my astigmatism) and I'm pretty stoked to take it out. The auto on/off feature is pretty sweet and the scope is clean and clear. It is on my 300blk AR Pistol and was thinking about getting one for my soon to be Mossberg 500 Bullpup shotty (a la Bullpups Unlimited). I am still skeptical of the battery life but we will see.

I have several of the solar powered Holosun red dot sights - so far very good.

This thread makes me want a Holosun unit... I have never tried any of their optics yet.

Does anyone have a comparison picture of the blue tint next to a similar primary arms, vortex, aimpoint?

I have a 2nd Gen PA I use as a beater but I really dislike the amount of blue tint when shooting with irons.

Optics planet has a sale on holosun right now. Never owned one, but since the good reviews are sky rocketing i wanted to try one. Just bought a HS503GU for my cz scorpion. Super fun range plinker. Just needs a red dot with low mount for more fun.

I was originally looking at a vortex SPARC for my 9mm AR, but came across the Holosuns. Only recently heard about them, never seen one in person, but they look ok. Would you guys say they are somewhat comparable or more or less on par with a vortex?

Just looking for a plinking red dot - style optic for sub 100yds. What would a good model be to look at?

Get the 503GU, haven't taken it out to the range but I think for the features it is worth the penny.

I like the HS515CU or the HS510C best of the line I think.

Both are great units

I really like the 510C that I have on my SCAR16

Dvor has the 505C for $241 plus $100 Dvor bucks which is a great deal. I'll be getting one for sure.

I have the base model on my Camp 9. Really handy to have that auto-on feature, really nice to pick up the gun and have it ready to rock.

Couldn't agree more in regards to the Scorp. I have the same optic mounted on an American Defense low QR mount and couldn't be happier. Gives it a lower 1/3 co-witness.

The only problem I have with my Holosun is it won't wake up unless I smack it with my palm.

I guess that could be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.

Driving in a car while stored I could see a high sensitivity shortening battery life, but I can understand the irritation.

Smacking it with ur palm or a light shock to the rifle still being faster than having to fiddle with knobs or buttons, especially if you need to deploy quickly.

Can you at least turn it on, and force it to stay on?

That's why I never returned it. I figured it saves me battery power from subtle jostling. I also don't mind smacking it. Like you said, it's faster and easier than finding buttons or knobs.

Once it's on it stays on like it's supposed to. So overall it actually might be a feature rather than a drawback the more I think about it.

The Holosuns or the Tailhooks? In any case, both are.
