Default RDS magnifier questions

hi, marsh1 -- just a couple of questions about your magnifiers and mounts.

1. what's the difference between the 3x magnifier and the deluxe model?

2. i'm looking for absolute cowitness using an eotech XPS2-0 mounted directly atop my AR-15 upper receiver. am i correct in my understanding that the standard height FTS mount will give me the proper sight picture?

thanks in advance for your answers -- and for being here on calguns so i can ask directly.

Sorry for the delay. It has been a little busier than usual this week.

1: The deluxe has the smaller front to work with any aftermarket mount, Mounting at the front takes up much less rail space.

2: Correct

no worries on the timetable; i understand that this time of year puts demands on the time of a retailer.

any chance i can trouble you for a comparison of the maximum diameter of both sights aft of the mount? (no hurry, of course.) i'm concerned about clearance over my folded-down rear sight, and i wonder if the rubber cover on the deluxe model makes it larger than the non-deluxe.

thanks for the info, and happy holidays.

The standard FTS side mount will give you this clearance.

.65" for standard 3X and 6X

.5" 3X Deluxe

This is from the rail to the bottom of the magnifier

hi again, marsh1 ... i think i've figured out a mix of components that suits me and my build, but the website now indicates standard height FTS mounts are out of stock. any idea when they'll be back in?

We are trying to get a update from the factory. They just got back from a 4 week Chinese New Year break so it will be at least 45 days.

We don't do back orders but I will put them back on the web site. Then you can use the email when back in stock feature.
