Default I need gunsmith help

I've got a few projects that I've run into needing gunsmith help on. Most immediately I need a barrel measured to see if it's correct, I also need a few firearms blued. Is there someone good nearby with a small waiting list that can hot blue and measure barrels internally?

Try The Gunshop or Raspy Rabbit.

Only place I take my firearms because they are reputable and I know their quality is Bolsa Gunsmithing. I know there is a guy in the SCV area named daniels gunsmithing, but dont know much about craftsmanship.

As far as bluing, I took my Rem 700 7mm Rem Mag to see George at "The Gun Shop" on Sierra Hwy. It was a few years ago that I did that, about 5 or so. As memory recalls, the price was reasonable, but don't expect a quick turn around. So if you need the job quick, not the right place. For other "smithing" needs I'm not sure I would go there. Basic stuff no problem as long as time is no object. That has been my experience.

I inherited a Remington 700 ADL that also shoots 7mm Rem Meg. It was pretty beat up and I took it to OC Gunsmith in Orange. I had him look it over and asked him if it were worth restoring. Since the bore was good, he said it was worth it. Charged me $400 to redo the wood, duracoat the metal, and check everything over. I'm pretty satisfied. He took 'forever', but I told him that I was in no hurry to get it back. Shot it for the first time today. Didn't kick as much as I expected. After seven rounds, wouldn't chamber some reloads.

edited to add: Not sure of the metal coating. Might have been cerakote, or something completely different.
