Of the 3 Turners I have visited (San Marcos, Kearny Mesa and Temecula), none had firing ranges. Do any of the Turners locations have a place to test a handgun on site before buying?

Is that a possibility in the future?

I would like to give a shout out for the Torrance store, did a ppt there last sat, the manager was awesome, got there at 10 had the paperwork done and transaction complete by 10:40,and all with a smile, plus bought some extra goodies with my new cash, Have not had a problem with this store in a long time. Kuddos

There are no plans currently to change the policy. Less than 1% of our customers are affected by “undetermined” background check outcomes. The majority of those who have been affected take the time to clear up whatever the issue is- ranging from uncovering DOJ mistakes, to clearing up background issues that had been resolved but not reported as such; doing so keeps them from having to face the same outcome on future purchases as opposed to not addressing the issue that holds them up. Are you claiming to actually be doing a "favor for customers" that you deny their lawful purchases? By forcing them to correct the mistakes of a Ca. Gov. Agency.

Perhaps you could share the reasoning for this "extra legal" policy change at Turner's. Because not one, of the many, "former customers" of Turner's that posts here on CG, the largest online firearms forum in the state. Share your opinion, that Turner's did them any favors.

Never claimed we were doing any one a favor. Neither are we the ones denying a purchase. It’s the inadequacies of the DOj to complete the background check that causes the issues and then they attempt to put the onus on the dealer. We’re simply saying that the issue will continue to come up and its better for everyone involved if it’s addressed and corrected.

From my research this STD cap mag ruling will stick. Same judge that held it up, now came back with a more complete written description. His ruling went thru the 3 panel 9th and here we are!

In other words, your my main store SB location. We are all counting on you to lead the way.

Hi Chris - just a gripe.

Now, I'm giving you guys BIG credit for being a local store, with a good amount of locations and reacting quickly to the magazine freedom we experienced for the last couple of days.

I do appreciate that you went out of your way to bring product in before the stay, and did a great job of communicating that to your customers. Enough so that even though I made a LOT of purchases this week by online, I thought I'd swing by on my way home from work today and maybe pick up a couple of AR or AK mags.

And here is the gripe - and it seems like Turner's always does something this to their customers:

Product was in but the email saying what was in stock was vague. So I drove by the Signal Hill store, and sure enough there were 30 rounders on the rack available for purchase. Unknown name brand polymer mags, for $17 a piece.

All week long, and all over the country at any given time, you can pick up Magpul Pmags for around $12. $12.... $14 if you want something other than black...but Turner's brought in unknown mags and sold them for $17??

I mean? Thanks, I guess??

Just guessing here, but I'll bet the rest of the country didn't pay overnight freight to get the mags to their warehouse, or have Chris drive them around to each location. I dunno, I'm probably wrong...

We we're initially operating under the assumption that a stay would be put in place before any mags could make them into California, once we saw we had a window we worked to do everything we could to get as many mags as possible into Ca. Unlike the online vendors, we didn't have this stock just ready to go. We were able to get MFT mags and Pmags and a handful of various other mags in time before the stay. However, we did have to overnight ship huge qtys and then drop of mags in personal vehicles to get the mags into stores asap. We figured we would rather give our customers the opportunity to get some mags, even though they would end up being a little higher, than say "Sorry we didn't get any because the shipping was too much."

And YOU completely missed the point.

I acknowledged exactly what you said, once before you said it in my original post, and again after YOU missed my reply to you.

When there is a natural disaster, and you don't have any water, do you thank the guy who showed up with bottled water, that was kind of dirty, and smelled a little funny when you opened it and who charged you a 25% PREMIUM for it because - well - he went out of his way to bring in product and charge you for his cost? When you absolutely know he filled the bottles from the rain water buckets in his backyard?

So, yeah - when Turner's brings in unknown quality no name brand magazines, the day before the stay is going to take place, and charges 25% more then what the name brand WITH quality items cost everywhere else. I'm going to call them out on it.

I appreciate that they brought in product, notified their customers they had product in store, but what I don't appreciate is being sold questuonable quality items for a premium price.

Nobody does, except maybe you?

That's all I'm saying, exactly what I said in my first post.

Sometimes a half hearted attempt at something is worse then no attempt.

I would like to give a complement the team at the Turners store in Orange. I went in today to by a stripped lower, but I asked about featureless AR-15s. The team at the counter to show me all models with out rushing me. I have had experiences in the past were the employees were grumpy. Not this time. I had a great experience and would like for your team to give them the recognition they deserve for the outstanding customer service they offer. And I ended up by a featureless rifle today.

Hey Chris, I have a question for ya. If I go to a store location, and they don't happen to have what i'm looking for on-hand. So they have to search for it on the computer. At what time do I get hit with transfer fees? Only if it's from another store? Or do they charge a fee to bring it in from a warehouse, or another turner's location? Is there any sort of extra charge involved in any of those aforementioned possible outcomes? Thanks.

Would like to give a big shout out for the Torrance Turner's store, They have gone out of there way for a couple of PPT, The staff there there is awesome!! way to go guy's.

No fees whatsoever for the transfer per se. Typically on most guns we do require a 30% deposit to get the transfer initiated but if for some reason you change you mind that money is always transferable to another firearm purchase.
