Default New Bolt-action Ruger American Rimfire!

Can't wait!

http://www.ruger.com/products/americ...ire/index.html

The 100% American-made Ruger American Rimfire™ bolt-action rifle builds on the enormous success of the centerfire Ruger American Rifle®. With many of the standard Ruger American Rifle® features, this new line also combines several design innovations from the popular 10/22® rimfire rifle. This combination, along with the rifle's adaptability, appeals to bolt-action enthusiasts - whether young or old, novice or experienced.

LIGHTWEIGHT STOCK

Ergonomic, lightweight black composite stock (designed for quick, easy handling) blends a classic look with modern forend contouring and grip serrations

RUGER MARKSMAN ADJUSTABLE™ TRIGGER

Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger offers a crisp release with a pull weight that is user adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds.

TANG SAFETY

Features a visible, accessible and easy-to-actuate tang safety.

BOLT

A 60° bolt provides ample scope clearance, while an easy-to-use, receiver-mounted bolt release allows the bolt to be readily removed without requiring a pull of the trigger, a unique safety feature among rimfire, bolt-action rifles.

ROTARY MAGAZINE

Models chambered in .22 LR feature the detachable, flush-mounted 10/22® BX-1 10-round rotary magazine. Accepts all 10/22® magazines, including the BX-25® and BX-25®x2. Models chambered in .22 Magnum use the detachable, flush-mounted JMX-1 9-round rotary magazine.

MAGAZINE RELEASE

Easy-to-use 10/22®-style extended magazine release provides smooth, no-fuss magazine removal.

POWER BEDDING® INTEGRAL BEDDING BLOCK SYSTEM

Patent-pending Power Bedding® integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy.

SCOPE BASE

A 3/8" rimfire scope base is machined into the receiver, which is also drilled and tapped for Weaver® #12 bases (not included).

REAR SIGHT

10/22®-style adjustable, "V" slot, folding-leaf rear sight.

HAMMER-FORGED BARREL

Satin blued, target-crowned, hammer-forged barrel results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning.

FRONT SIGHT

Williams™ fiber optic front sight.

This is cool! And, the price is not bad ~$300. I was expecting north of 5 bills.
Takes same mags as 10/22 (already have a bunch). Adjustable trigger too.
I want one.....

Since it takes 10/22 mags, I'm in. I really like my Savage Mk2, but I'd much rather have this to go with my BX-25's.

I've read that many lgs now have them in stock ... only east of us it seems. I read on rimfire central one calgunner checked with Turner's yesterday and they hadn't heard of them. The poster didn't specify which Turner's he checked with but he was from SoCal. They do look good and my Master Card will be thanking Ruger when they are available here!

Can't wait to get one. The rotary mag just puts this over the top. I like Marlins and Savages, but hate their mags. They work great, they just seem flimsy. I have tons of 10/22 mags.

I have been waiting for a CZ Scout, but it looks like a Ruger compact fits my bill much better!

Wow - is Ruger using that type of accutrigger "Marksman" setup on most of their bolts now?

Someone post the MSRP if you find it, looks nice.

I'm excited for all the accessories that are sure to follow. Ruger truly hit it out of the park with this one, as it pretty much negates whatever advantage Savage had with their Accutrigger. Now if only someone will market a Klinsky-style stock...

Compact for me with full size stock.

So I just bought the Savage and I'm forced to buy something to fix the super low cheek rest. This Ruger solves the cheek rest issue and gives options for length of pull...brilliant, I love it!

If it would take 10/22 stocks, it would make this super awesome. Tons of great stocks avail for the 10/22.

Be patient, I'm sure it'll come....as will a stainless and a heavy-barrel version if Ruger finds that there's a market for it.

Just wish that the MSRPs could be more in line with the Savage Mark II FV blue heavy barrel at $235 or the FVSS stainless heavy barrel at $335.

Sort of related to the topic, but has anyone had experience with the single shot mag for 10/22s? Do you have to pop it out and load a round in it every time? I was hoping it would work like a single shot sled but from what I've seen it doesn't look to be the case.

I might have to get one. Been wanting a 22lr bolt action and since it takes 10/22 mags even better.

Nice, I'll probably get one. Too bad it doesn't come with an integral weaver base.... who even uses 3/8" dovetail any more. I also wish it could use all the aftermarket 10/22 barrels out there.

Says here its pre drilled for #12 weaver bases. Maybe it comes with it, just to early to know yet. (scratch that OPs edit shows it doesn't come with the weaver base)
