Picked up my lower and after holding it for a while I jailed a 795. OTD for $159.98. If my 10/22 experience is any indication I have a feeling I'll spend at least that much again upgrading it.

Sales guy mentioned they had 5 left in stock (I presume he was referring to his store, Rancho Cucamonga, and not the chain as a whole).

I was in about an hour ago and picked one up. Salesman said only two left in the warehouse.

Does anyone know if Turners offers "rainchecks" on OOS items?

i dont, but i do know dicks will price match a turners ad.

(i dont like shopping at dicks for guns, but if turners is OOS, and dicks has it, its the same price)

You have to go down there start paperwork and put a deposit down.
I have done it before for something that was on sale and was OOS. I would assume they would do it for this too.
If it said something like only 50 per store then I would think that would be different.

Did the DROS on one for $149.99 a week from last Monday. When I picked it up on Friday I asked for a price adjustment with no problem. I lucked out for a change.

I bought 1 yesterday , always wanted a Marlin. Not bad for $119, with tax it was $130 , then $30 for DROS. Total $160 pick her up on the 30th.

Deals like these you should jump on. I was holding out for a Ruger, but in reality, what is really the big difference between a Marlin, ruger, or any other .22lr rifle? I have a Beretta ARX160 and I feel there wont be much of a difference in shooting a .22lr from one rifle to the other. Only reason i bought the ARX160 was to practice with it until the ARX100 made it to CA, which wont happen in time. In any case its a fun futuristic .22lr with awesome 3rd gen AR features.

However comparing a ruger and marlin is a mute point, 1 was cheaper than the other. Marlin will do just as well a ruger for half the price. After spending 500 on a .22lr you really dont feel like spending more money on a .22lr trust me. I didnt see any difference between a ruger and a marlin to justify $250 for a ruger.

Got one. Thanks for the heads up people!
Chaos, when you mentioned inspect it when you pick up the gun to minimize chances of defects, do you mean fully disasemble it on the counter?
Thanks

No I doubt they would let you.

IMO I would check on any firearm:
The front sight
The rear sight
Alignment of both sights to the receiver
The crown
Everywhere for nicks or problems with the finish
Probably more but that's what I can think of right now.

Congrats to everyone getting in on this deal and joining the Marlin family!

I put a deposit down on Sat for the sale price, they didn't have anymore in the store but had plenty in the warehouse and said it would take until Fri or Mon to get them moved to the store so i can start the dros. That's another week added to the 10 days, sucks but great deal. This was the West Covina store.

I believe you got wrong info. I have bought two guns @ Turner's that the actual gun was not physically in that store. The DROS can be started so the gun jail time can start. Its not 10 days after wherever they get the gun physically in the store. Newest case in point is the 795 I just picked up. The last one in the store was the display and I was offered that one or dros and they will write the serial number of the next gun that gets shipped in.

Thanks. Yup, of course you should do all that before you take posession of any firearm as well as a dry function test. I thought you mean we were allowed to disasemble right on the counter, LOL.

Well they specifically told me i couldn't start the dros until they actually have it in the store, the deposit was $50 and i could get the sale price but they said i had to wait until it comes in. I'll see what's going on with this... this is my first time buying from turners.

Cynnik, I believe they must be out of stock, otherwise they could start the dros. When they look in the computer, they see how many are in the warehouse, they pick one and assign the serial# to your purchase order, and then you can start the dros. The gun will then be shipped to the store in time for you to pick up. They prob know they have more headed in, so they took your deposit. Once they have them in the warehouse and have a serial number, they can start the dros.

Just a note of correction; it has to be in their WAREHOUSE in El Segundo so they can get a SERIAL NUMBER before they can start a DROS, then they send it to your store the next week; so the shipment is on its way to the warehouse still. Many stores do this stuff, especially the daily deals kind of marketing

sorry;above post beat me..!

Just called them and they have a serial number ready so i can start the dros right now. I guess when i made the deposit on Sat it wasn't actually in the warehouse yet to get a serial number, if i didn't check this thread i would've just waited lol. Thanks for all the help.

Good price but. I would pay the extra $100-$120 bucks and get the 10/22 Ruger

I tried 10/22, one my friend has it. marlin is more accurate out of the box than 10/22.

So you would get 1 Ruger over a Marlin that is half the price?
Or in other words you could get 2 Marlins for the price of one Ruger..

Is the Ruger double as good as the Marlin? No.

Geez what are you going to do with 5?! Was this an impulse buy or are you planning on lining up all 5 in a row and shoot them all at once? Or do you have 5 kids you plan on taking to go shooting? hahaha are you forming a little child army loaded with Marlins ?
