Yeah by the time you get in you're $25 deep already. There were some good finds depending on what you were looking for, a little gouging going on but not too bad compared to the classifieds here.

The magnet people were at it again, different product same issue imo. The guy told me the ATF and DOJ loved their product.. I asked why the ATF even gave a crap, no answer.

Pretty much empty after 1pm. Waste of money though, I don't think I saw anything there that I don't already have.

Kinda what I figured. If you've got the time to seek out ammo from your LGS, you'd be in the same boat, without the wait. I saw 500rd boxes for sale this week between 30-40. Not Walmart pricing, but better than the show!

Sheesh I got those 525 count Fed 22LR for $24 at bass pro this morning. The rest of that trip was a bust not much on the shelf

I scored at the show today. Found a guy that had a huge supply of .22 and I ended up buying 2400 rounds from him. Got a smokin deal!

The line for Miwall was 30 minutes long and I even found a few pounds of powder that I wanted. No primers though.

I was buying shoes across Cal Expo at the Sports Authority and they had some ammo in stock. 100 rds Winchester 9mm for 29.99, 100 rds Winchester 45ACP for 51.99, and 50 rds Winchester 45ACP for 26.99. There was no line and hardly any people notice the ammo. I didn't need any ammo at that price so I bought a pair of shoes for a good deal and left.

Sounds like at the gun show you had to pay parking, wait in line for hours to pay more for reload.

Interesting! Didn't think Sports Authority would carry ammo, thanks for the heads up!

I'm assuming you have to submit to fingerprinting at Sports Authority? Was fingerprinting mandatory at the gun show as well?

No finger printing. But, remember gun show also charge the ca. tax. I heard there is also fight on Miwall line.

Only the ones at Cal Expo and Citrus Heights carry ammo. It's still too expensive but I know some people would jump on it.

I should have bought all of it and sell it to people on the way out of the Cal Expo gun show lol.

Yeah, I believe the Cal Expo and Arden vicinity is outside of City of Sacramento limits, so no fingerprint requirement to purchase ammo.

EDIT:

I thought Akoba was referring to the non fingerprinting at Sport Authority, not the Gun Show at Cal Expo.

Also...

For some reason I confused Sport Chalet on Watt/El Camino which is in Sacramento County for Sport Authority. Sport Authority on Arden is still within the City Limits of Sacramento, and subject to the fingerprinting for ammo requirement.

Major takeaways: Duo'h.

The Sports Authority behind the Hooters across from the Arden Fair Mall? They must have relaxed their policy, the last time I bought ammo there (November 2012) only the key carrying manager could sell me ammo, the ammo form got filled out and I was required to give the fingerprint.

So either someone was being lazy or a rule got changed between then and now.

No, I'm responding to the other member about finger printing in cal-expo gunshow. I know that arden area is still sacramento district. That's why they require the finger printing.

If you can find a ammo retailer who will ship it to you and aren't afraid to do so, yes.

The entire fingerprints needed for ammunition purchases is a City of Sacramento issue. Unless you are LEO or LTC, if you are purchasing ammo within city limits you must provide a fingerprint and a signed receipt for the amounts purchased or something like that.

Because of this "fingerprint" requirement, many online ammo sellers are hesitant to sell to Sacramento in general; even though the City Attorney (or was it City Council) wrote a letter affirming that the intention was to restrict via store sales in the purview of the City and not online/out of City sales. Sorry, I fumbled my locations. Edited my post; Sport Authority on Arden does require fingerprinting on ammo purchases as they are in Sacramento City Limits.

Gotcha. No worries, more of a general curiosity. I was more surprised that someone said they found ammo there recently, especially in 9mm. I stopped checking there but good to know they're still getting product.

Yes, but they hardly ever have anything good.

What were you looking for? For the good stuff (like .9 mm Hornady Critical Duty) I go to River City Gun Exchange, but they're within Sacto city limits, so there's finger-printing involved....doesn't bother me, but it sounds like other folks on here have an aversion to that
